dandelion root for water weight

I've been taking dandelion root and lost about 4-5lbs of water weight, but last night i was talking to a girl and she told me to stop taking it until i'm closer to doing my show...it's 10 weeks away right now. I just liked how i felt without all that extra weight...any suggestions or opnions??

Definitely wait until closer to the show. You don't need to start dehydrating this far out. I usually start the pills Thursday night if the show is on Saturday.

P.S. Don't forget to take potassium as well!

Is there anything I can take in the mean time? I dropped 5lbs, and only .50% BF, and I know it was all water because my sztregnth has gone up...I just like looking leaner I guess...maybe I need more patience!

Sara, I would definitely NOT dehydrate or take diuretics until 3 days before your competition, girl. Losing water is NOT something that you WANT to be doing, or should be doing for long perionds of time...If you liked not having that extra weight, then make sure that your diet is right and that you are training hard, and that should do the trick. (Note, also, that if you are drinking lots of water (i.e. ~a galleon a day), then it should also help you 'lose' water weight, as it will flush your system out; if you drink less, your body will HOLD onto the water it has)...Don't stress over what your weight is; it's your body COMPOSITION that matters!
