Sara, I would definitely NOT dehydrate or take diuretics until 3 days before your competition, girl. Losing water is NOT something that you WANT to be doing, or should be doing for long perionds of time...If you liked not having that extra weight, then make sure that your diet is right and that you are training hard, and that should do the trick. (Note, also, that if you are drinking lots of water (i.e. ~a galleon a day), then it should also help you 'lose' water weight, as it will flush your system out; if you drink less, your body will HOLD onto the water it has)...Don't stress over what your weight is; it's your body COMPOSITION that matters!
