    Could I / Should I enter a competition?

Okay, just thought I'd pose a question, and this forum seemed as good as any.

What does it take to enter a competition, in terms of a body and mind set. I have been lifting for a while and find that like most anything, I need a goal, something to work towards. I find in bb/working out that it is hard to for me to determine if I have attained what I wanted to attain, and for me, just saying I look better is pretty subjective. Therefore, I have been considering setting a real goal, such as entering a competition.

    Stats: 31 yrs, 200 lbs, 46c, 32w, 16a, 23 quads, about 8-9% bf, currently natural.

Okay, I realize this is small for my height, and I am working to bulk up. If I were to enter a competition, I feel as though I'd be too small to be anything but silently laughed off the stage. If I were to give myself a year, could I enter? What is a competion all about? Is is size and showmanship? I am not really into publically flaunting my body like some guys at the gym, but somehow being judged by my peers might help to motivate me and give me a goal to work towards.

I could post a pic or two if you wanted em to assess.

If you plan on doing a natural show you will definitely not be too small! You would actually be one of the biggest guys at the show.

At World Natural Sports contests (the Musclemania Canada Series), the heavyweight class is over 195lbs - but the majority of the athletes are in the light heavyweight and middleweight classes.

The main things that you have to worry about is your body symmetry, muscle definition, and that you're doing the poses properly. In a natural competition mass is the last thing the judges are looking at. It's not always the biggest guy on stage who wins.

Feel free to post some pics & i'll give you my 2 cents worth.

You should check out their site which is packed with pictures & info so you can see what exactly it entails. Plus they are a very reputable organization that treats the athletes well.
