He is kind of right. If you can't flex a muscle, how are you supposed to use it properly when working it out?

what you think?
There is some sort of mental stability or connection when you are able to focus contracting the muscles. Controlling your movements and literally being able to feel the muscles being worked is a great feeling.

However, I don't think that practicing to bounce each pec seperately every night will play much of an effect on the growth of your chest.

Keep working hard in the gym, focus on throwing up good weight with excellent form, and use the 'mind over matter' attitude to let your body feel each rep as you work out.

Also, for good chest development - use a great deal of incline pushes (DB or BB), weighted dips, and heavy flies. I used to have a major issue with strength and pectoral development, but have dramatically increased the size, overall look, and strength incorporating these three exercises regularly.

I think that practicing to flex will help activate the muscle and the mind/muscle connection better during exercise. I also think that that is key in chest development because (personally) it's hard to feel the chest working very hard on chest exercises, as opposed to other body parts.

I think that bottom line you are able to mentally/physically increase the amount of stress that you are putting on specific muscle group vs the others in a compund movement if you continue to develop the mind muscle connection and get your body to utilize that group more primarily throughout the motion.
So might that flexing idea be valid to assist that ability ? - sure. Is that going to make your chest "blow up"? that is pushing it.

Bouncing them at night can't hurt, give it a try if you like.
