There's a guy on here named Weiss. He's got a number after his name which I can't just now remember. He said he was from Russia and served in the Russian navy. He's about my age, lives near Vancouver, BC now. Haven't seen him post in awhile.

Oh, I've meant the guys who live in Russia I've visited the Russian BB forums couple times. Didn't like them too much. Most of the replies are three or four three - letter words, very brief, and the overall mood of conversation is not as friendly and relaxed as here.
Of course there are reasons for that but still I prefer to use the benefits of speaking English here.

[I read there's an American girl on the Russian Olympic basketball team named Becky Hammon - and of course several people from different countries on the U.S. team].

They are not exacly grizzlies - it's a smaller-size bears.
As for the language...Sometimes I think you have to be born Russian to speak Russian. It's very difficult to learn. Some of my friends who are at the USA now take great pains to teach their children the mother tongue but it's something more sentimental than practical.
