hell yes! its plant algae cells, amazing stuff loaded with phytonutrients and essential vitamins and minerals.
its common in green supplements but great by itself, and its a great natural source of iodine as well. it can be beneficial in treating all kinds of GI problems, aids/hiv, and other diseases and deficiencies.

I just bought 2 bottles of chlorella. Opend it and it smells funky. But it has a "Y" letter on it. Anybody knows what that stands for?
And there's no ingredients labeled on the back. Weird.

used to take chlorella and spirulina.
careful.... the "vitamin b12" that is found in chlorella is actually a b12 analogue that competes with actual vitamin b12

I've never felt so good since taking chlorella and spirulina together daily. I get Jarrow brand Chlorella and NOW spirulina powder. I don't know about the whole b12 analogue thing, I've read that, and I've read the source of b12 in spirulina is actually good. I can only comment on how it makes me feel, and it makes me feel amazing and full of energy. A teaspoon of spirulina in a fruit smoothie is literally the equivalent of a b12 injection to me, I feel the exact same after both. The only difference I can tell is the spirulina is slightly appetite suppressing, whereas a b12 shot makes me want to eat, eat, eat.
I take the spirulina in the morning just to give me the energy to get me going, and pre-workout because it literally doubles my endurance.
I save the chlorella for night, so I can have the chlorella growth factor for recovery while I sleep. CGF has 17 times more DNA and RNA than sardines, which is the next highest source.
A teaspoon of each daily is the nutritional equivalent of 6 servings of dark leafy vegetables, another bonus.
edit: Be sure you are using broken/cracked cell wall chlorella. The cell walls are completely indigestible, so unless they are cracked by sonic pulverization or hot jet spray after harvesting, it is useless from a nutritional standpoint.
