He e-mailed me at 5:00 am with an approved contract and in the comments he wrote "How could I say No to you."

They're all cooking and gardening related... And I took the small up front money.

Basically this publisher is looking for someone with Authentic Experience to write gardening and cooking guidebooks.

People who buy or DL them get interested in my writing/become fans...

Then I'm going to self publish one of the open queries I have for the book on food and travel...

Then I write and self publish my travel based novel.


Its the writing equivalent of how I network sales in my Advertising career... Get to know people by talking about food... And then that hooks them into the bigger buys.

After that I'll have the Senate take a vote of no confidence in Chancellor Velorum

Sure from my mid 20's through my early 30's I thought "Someone should be filming this!" A lot.

Now my life is pretty boring by reality show standards... I take care of a baby daughter by day, making boring sales calls when she naps and then writing all night long.

Every other weekend I get 1 day off and I get drunk for two nights in a row.

In a year or two when my daughter is older I can get back to more of the adventure... But for now I'm just cashing in on past experience. While having a blast being a daddy.

I've looked into it before, when I lived in town and was thinking about buying a 40 acre property in the woods. Just raw land and I'd need a cheap place to stay up there.

IF you do it yourself and source the materials, it's around 2 grand for a 16 foot diameter yurt.

There are places out there where you can buy the kit and they ship it to you.

you have potassium iodide in your kit anywhere?

Need to add burn gel and some surgical sponges to my aid kit.

Make sure you have Celox/Quikclot (you probably already do though)

Never watched any. The whole premise of the show is odd to me. I guess if you want to see blurred out naked people then I can understand.

But really what's the point of the show?

I have reservations about watching these shows anymore because most of them are staged.

Yeah the show has to be produced by feminists. Every episode I've watched (Never finished one) The women are always survival experts... The guy "Has some vague military training" The guy inevitably falls apart without a mall drinking fountain near by and he decides to drink untreated water... Gets sick and all hell breaks loose while the woman makes herself clothing, gathers twigs and berries and watches the guy roll around naked and half dead crapping himself.

These 'survival' shows try to go to the extreme too much. I get that it's for entertainment value. I think that they try too hard sometimes.

My ideal show is to tape Nainoa in his mountain escape cooking Crème brûlée from the items out in his garden. That or Les Stroud doing his thing.

i watch that sometimes even though it takes 2 commercials to make a fire and then they talk about codys feet with the terrain with the remaining time
