Getting Taller!!
This might sound retarded but please be gentle but is there a way to get taller, like some kind of workout r some food that helps cause I'm 26 and only 5'9, i would love to be at least 6'. The funny thing is, is that I'm the tallest in my family but my papa is like 6'4. My dad is like 5'4 my mom 5'2 my oldest sister is 4'9 and my twin sisters r like 5' and no we r not midgets although my oldest sister could be. LOL! Anyway enough of my curious family can anyone help me out? Thanx!!

LOL, and I spend all day dreaming about the opposite.....
Sorry man, but at 26, your pretty much stuck with what the parents gave ya. Its no big deal though, at 5'9" its not like your midget or anything.
Nothing against the midgets out there

Based on your genetic makeup, you're lucky that you're 5'9".
You're above the average height. Don't worry.

Be happy man and just pack on the muscle if you want to look intimidating or whatever you think being taller will make you look or feel. It is genetics, I am 5ft4in but am comfortable with it. My dad is 5ft6in, mom is 5ft2inch, sister 5ft2in, etc. It is what it is, no biggie.

Judging by your thread, you don't seem to be "proud" of your parents' heights. Who gives a ****? Get your spelling right and they'll be more likely to be proud of a literate dad than one who isn't.
It's something you're born with. Everyone would like to be 6 feet tall but when you're given lemons, make lemonade.
Oh yeah, and for the record, I'm 5'5" ish. How do you think I feel? Well, pretty good, actually.

Why even comment on something if your gonna be rude about it? I love my parents very much and I cant help that I'm not very smart but I am one hell of a father.

Here's what you do.... Go rent the movie Gattica (sp?) it shows you how to break your legs, then space them. After they are healed, you will be taller. I think the guy in the movie was supposedly like 2-3inches taller. hahahaha kidding though, don't try it.
5'9" isn't bad, I wouldn't be too worried about it. At 26, hoping to get taller is hopeless! Look at it this way, it is easier for you to fit in cars, I'm only 6'1-2" and I flat can't get comfortable in most cars, and even some SUVs. It can be a real pain, and the biggest plus for someone who works out and is short.... You don't have to put near as much muscle on to look "big" as we do. If I kept the muscle I had and became 5'9" I would be absolutely JACKED!!

I wish I was little bit taller.
I wish I was a baller.
I wish I had a girl who looked good, I would call her.
I wish I had a rabbit in a hat with a bat, and a '64 Impala.

5'9 is fine. As somone said, it's above average. I wish I'm 5'9 ! In fact, I would be satisfied if I'm 5'7. I'm 21 years old and only 5'5, which I'm disatisfied with (no offense to those above me who are 5'5 but satisfied). Therefore, if anyone know any exercise, plz mention them.
Btw, SykosouL , I heard that pullup/chinups are good because it stretches the spine.

Thanx for your comments on this weird topic! I feel good about 5'9" now cause I'm just gonna get as big as I can so people don't pay attention to my height but my muscles. If anyone knows anything about Rippetoe then check out my journal.
