(Human) Anatomy and Physiology that hard?

So I'm taking a one semester A & P class during the fall, with 3 other classes too. Everyone says I'm crazy because A&P will be an asskicking. What say you, misc?

it really isnt that difficult i had ap this spring and the only really hard thing about the class is the memorization of the different muscles and bones, and the chemical processes. If you do good in that you will probably do good on the exam

For me, A&P was the most difficult class. Especially at the cellular level. To truly understand requires tons of reading.

Those subjects are mostly memorization, write good notes/do week-to-week work and you'll do fine.

Duuuude. I took A+P 1 for the first 5 weeks this summer and I am currently half-way through A+P 2. Not only is it notorious for being the hardest class on campus, but I'm taking an accelerated version. Just come into that class absolutely prepared to take the stuff head on. At least half of my class for A+P 1 had already tried the class at least once, and many were on their 3rd and sometimes 4th tries. But it also depends on what teacher you have and how the curriculum is set up. From what I hear some anatomy classes are set up harder than others.

concepts are pretty easy to understand.
memorisation of the names in anatomy is a killer
combined with al the terms you memorise in physiology.

Get Ganong's Medical Physiology textbook for physiology (along with Silverthorn's Human Physiology if you need another reference). Netter and Moore are good for anatomy.

Like others said, A&P is basically memorization. I had to do two semesters of it and two semesters of Pathophysiology. I found PATHO much more difficult. Our instructor said, those who do well in Anatomy tend to have difficulty with Patho as its more problem-solving, and those that do well in Patho have trouble with Anatomy & Physio-Guess they;re not good at memorizing.

I did Kaplan, DiT, and Pass program…all of them are clinically oriented, my best advise is to try one less complicated.

If you're struggling, anatomy zone is pretty good to get you started. Aclands is a great source for muskuloskeletal anatomy.

Anatomy is 100% memorization, make flash cards. Bring with you fuking everywhere and just repeat repeat repeat. I even drew little bones on my flashcards so I can "see" the location of everything. I took A&P together and Aced both classes last semester.

Physiology is harder, usually the big concepts are just a bunch of steps. ie blood flows through this vein, than through that vein, than to the right ventricle of the heart, than this channel, than this ventricle. Best to draw it out and read a couple of times. The hardest part is to understand it when you read cause it's not clearly laid out. Much harder to ace physio tests cause there is so much room for mistake. Anatomy you'll get answers right simply cause a couple names will be sort of in a word bank in your head and then you can just deduce it to which part.

physiology is harder, don't drop these science classes. Any program that requires these classes HATE W's. They automatically see it as laziness.

Just go ham OP for 1 semester, it'll be over before you know it. Plus no amount of studying is painful enough to sacrifice the feels of walking out of class after getting your test handed back to you with an A on it.

Did my PT cert and doing a bridging program with Physiology as a subject at the moment. If you lift, it is exceptionally easy to learn and memorise muscles and bones because you should already be familiar with many of them. There's more to it than that, though - cell composition of different fibres, types of muscle, types of tissue, functions of bone, structure of joints, microscopic functionality of muscle strands, activity of the nervous system, etc. Good luck brah, don't skip any classes.

Depends, if you have a hard teacher they can pretty much make both of them more miserable than you can imagine. For instance, learning the brachial plexus and what each root divides into and what they innervate etc. Or they could make it simple and "remember the names of these shoulder muscles".
