CTG and Icequeen need help
CTG and I have something pretty wonderful going, but we are pretty far apart geographically and circumstances (and some really mean people) are trying to keep us that way.
If you have a spare second, please say a little prayer for us.
Thanks guys--we love you and you are all invited to the wedding if this works out ok

There is much to pray for in these times with family and country going through so much. But friends are always worth the extra thoughts prayers and best wishes. God bless.

Thanks guys, we appreciate it.
We're not giving up, but it seems like a crapshoot right now. Any prayers can do nothing but help.

So why is the damn government waging war on the FITNESS Industry??

Just wanted to give you some additional hope on the geographic part.
When hubby & I first met, we were both in the military, stationed in Arizona. Right after we got married, he was reassigned to Germany. I had 6 months left in the military, so I stayed in AZ for the first 6 months of our marriage
During our marriage, we have both (at different times) had jobs that involved extensive travel. And even now, DH is working/living in DCwhile I'm staying in Illinois so my DD can finish out the school year. We will be moving there in June.
We've gotten through all of this with frequent phone calls, letters, instant messaging, and emails. Just stay strong, believe in each other and it can all work out. Trust me on this one! We will be married 16 years in October.

Things will work out for the two of you, I'm sure of it.
And I thought it would take a garden hose (really cold water) to seperate you two. LOL
IceQ,
It's just a bump in the road. Remember...... "absense makes the heart grow fonder".
PEACE

Love you all!

If you really want something you must devise a means to achieve it . Once you have a sound plan and put it into action you must have persistance . The ability to outlast your adversaries is what will let you acomplsh your goal .
Best of luck to both of you .

Good Vibes & Wishes sent your way. They say that absence makes the heart grow fonder. Whatever it is standing in your way of being together, it will strengthen what you have.
Best,

Behave!
We are going to visit his MOTHER to see if she approves of me, or maybe to see if I approve of HER (you know how these mother-in-law things go). We will be holding hands, but behaving otherwise (unless Blue knows something that I don't).
Take care!

My wife thinks I am 22 carat
Sure beats the he.. out of those previous relationships.
IceQueen, you just be yourself, she will love you, just like so many here do.

My mother-in-law is ultra, ultra, . . . (I can't repeat it as many times as needed) conservative & quite prudish. She is also VERY pushy & after telling her "no" 10 times, she still pretends she's suffering from a hearing loss. After letting her drive me absolutely insane for about 10 years in my younger life, I finally started coping by reminding myself that my husband loves that woman as much as I love my mother. LOL I repeat this to myself often! I love her myself now, because I've been around her for so long --almost 21 years of marital bliss. I also tell myself, if it weren't for her I wouldn't have him.
Just to name a very few:
1) She told my husband (at the age of 38) never to use the word "butt" again. LOL
2) Told my 5 year old daughter "naked birdie" was a very bad thing to say. LOL I used to always yell "naked birdie alert" when the kids got out of their bath & apparently she tried this out when her grandmother was getting out of the bath. Why she was running around nakey in front of her grandchildren is beyond me. LOL
3) Asked me why the grandkids called my mother "Bud" and I told her because you never see her without a Budweiser in her hand. She asked, "What's a Budweiser?" LOL LOL LOL
By the way, my mother didn't drink.
4) Scolded me for wearing a cocktail dress at the company party that was about 5 inches above my knee & other than being A -line, didn't show much of anything else -- said I was "inappropriately dressed". Also scolded me for mingling instead of standing at the door greeting people at my husband's side (apparently I'm supposed to stay by him at all times!)
Okay, I almost lost it on that one & did tell her it was not her place to tell me how to dress or whether or not I could mingle at a party. Not so LOL.
Okay, I'm done -- this could go to about 100 or more examples.
On the nicer side, she cooks very well & is always offering to babysit. It would be nicer if she lived in California.

Hibiscus, you are too funny. My last mother-in-law was terrible to me and my kids. She was always insulting me and talking down to my daughter, but worshipped her son.
1) She came to dinner and asked my husband if she could get him some mustard for "whatever" he was eating since it looked "very dry" (it was turkey burger).
2) My baby did not walk until she was a year old, so she constantly reminded me how her grandson and her sons all walked way before that--maybe there was something WRONG with my daughter
3) She claimed that Julia was so pretty because she looked like my husband . . .
4) She bought t-shirts for my sister-in-law and me, but specified that mine was the smaller size since I didn't have any boobs. (She also made mention that I probably missed what i had when I was pregnant, since I lost it ALL after I stopped nursing.)
It CAN'T get worse! LOL!
CTG's mom has no grandchildren and is very excited about it (already buying my girls gifts and has begged me to bring all of the pictures I can of them).
I have talked to her on the phone and she was extremely nice and told me how happy she was that her son was so happy,
PLUS, she raised a wonderful son who knows how to respect women and who is very thoughtful, patient and kind. I am sure that we will get along fine and like you said--that's his mom--mine is a wacko but I love HER.
Take care guys.
