I havent tried them all, but I'm currently carb cycling and it works good for me.

First of all, carbs don't make you fat or hinder weight/fat loss at all...

The Velocity diet is nothing but a liquid PSMF and it's a fad diet, plain and simple.

True, though like a PSMF it's only meant to be run for a short period of time. Personally the plan reads like one big Biotest ad, so I'd rather do a PSMF if I need it.

Personally I'm starting up a PSMF w/ EOD refeed, heard some positive feedback from this protocol.

Which as you said, is a temporary fix that has potential to lead to eating disorders or weight rebound.

I as an inspiring M.D., can not recommend this diet or any crash diet to anyone. At least Keto and carb cycling allows you to get plenty of calories to spare the protein... Although, I a firm believer in science and scienc says it's about "Calories in/Calories out."

Aaron, from what I understand from you, keto and some other normal cutting is the most stable diets? compared to PSMF?

but in general, aren't Keto and Carb Cycling more or less the same diet? just in keto you eat much more fat...

but, I don't know if most of the people going on normal keto or on CKD(Cycle, a one refeed couple of days)

I'm on PSMF for 3-4 days now and it's sucks, it's really not "fun" diet like lyle said.

I don't know what to do really...
what is the most stable and effective diet for 16 years old male that want to lose at least another 25-30pounds? (lost already 35pound with just a normal cutting, but next month I'm going to vacation and I want to be much more leaner...)

I definitely think that a PSMF should only be undertaken by those who know what they're doing, in terms of dieting, macros, cals for maintenance, etc. Newbies looking to get 'slim for summer' should stay away.

I've done tons of different diets/eating protocols to try to find out what I like best. I also like to experiment, makes for interesting times. Hopefully this new protocol will be worth it.

    A long time ago, yes.

I realized the carb phobia is ridiculous and needs to stop... Carbs don't make you fat, an excess of calories does.

    or maybe cycle all 3

    week 1 : Carb Cycling
    week 2 : Keto
    week 3 : Velocity

    ????
Wouldn't only 1 week at each be a little extreme? I mean, I would do it in maybe 2 month cycles.

To be honest, I think your trying ot mix tooo many things up. I mean your going from one to the next. .carb cycling to keto.. then to this velocity diet, which i think its mostly liquid protein??..

anyways.. my advice to you, Is to PICK ONE and stick w/ it for a month or 2 and see what happens. I know lots of ppl who carb cycle and there are TONS of ways to do so..

3 days low, one day high,
high, high, low, low.. etc.. low, high, low, low, high.. i mean so many combinations.. 0 carb days.. then mod carbs, low carb, back up to high..

Or go into Keto, I've never done a keto diet so i couldn't tell you much about it.

That'd be interesting, try it, why not? It's sort of a Carb cycle of weeks, One week has Carbs Spread around in it, the other 2 dont....maybe something like this

1st week do CKD (cyclical keto diet) while cycling calories that week(what im doing right now actually) Med (regular cal intake), very low (fast for a part of the day), Med, High, Low, Med, then carb load (HIGH), that can lead you into the Carb cycle (starting with a high day, start with the metabolism on high), then do your normal carb cycling routine you had planned out before for a week, then go into Velocity for a week

may seem complicated, and a little extreme but what the hell, maybe fun it'll keep your body ALWAYS Guessing...Do a log, keep with it for 3 months atleast (12 weeks, 4 cycles) It'd be interesting, thats for sure
Goal: Get a 6 Pack or Die Trying ... And thats not really all that out of the range of possibilities!

If you start out with a High carb as I suggested I would do this (this depends on your workout schedule too, Do high carbs on Leg days, or any of the usually harder workout days)

high, Low, low, Medium, High, Low, low -> velocity

Maybe just start by doing the 3 low, 1 high.. see how you feel. Then switch it up the next week.. high, low, low, med, low,high.. just play around w/ it

    Experiment!

I've done 4 weeks of Velocity diet. It sucked. BALLS. I felt completely terrible on it, lost about 12 pounds total and just felt absolutely unhealthy while I was on it.

For about 7 weeks I did a 1200-1800 cal diet eating lean meats and veggies/low carbs. Pretty much the same stuff, except I burned a LOT more fat, and felt a lot better. Still a brutally hard diet to follow.

Carb cycling and Keto are by far the easiest diets to follow and the ones which keep you the most sane. Your mood and general energy levels are also much much better on keto/carb cycling.

Overall I have found that I lose the most body fat and maintain the most muscle with Keto. Your last workouts of the week can be a bit rough. Being carb-depleted makes you look small toward the end of the week.

Carb cycling I didn't lose as much fat but I had great energy and strength all around. Might have even gained a little LBM.

Low-cal gave me very low energy. Hungry all the time. Just thought about food 24/7. Good fat loss, but definite muscle loss as well.

Velocity diet... ugh... made me feel like absolute **** all the time. Lost a lot of fat and muscle. Would never do this again. Ever. Also gave me a passionate hatred for strawberry flavored protein.

I don't like these internet warriors who read things and then parrot them off as if they really know what they're talking about. I actually spent time trying out all these techniques going from 216 at roughly 17-19% bodyfat to about 7% bodyfat at 188.

But, bottom line, they all work. Since January I've been using those above-mentioned techniques to cut the fat. If I had to do it all over again I'd just use Keto from day one.

We are not talking apples and oranges here..

The reality is really how do you want to do your Keto? Basically all the diets you mention are ketogenic diets. The velocity diet is a specific PSMF. The velocity diet just makes meals simple and easy because all protein shakes.
Carb cycling usally relies on shorter periods of ketosis. A more traditional keto diet would up the fat uptake compared to the PSMF.
I would suggest a PSMF with real foods over the velocity diet. PSMF are basically ketogenic diets keeping fats and carbs low. I am currently taking this approach. If you feel the need to cheat or feel energy is low, then cheat by adding some fat because you will stay in ketosis. The important thing is pick something you can stick with. Also your BF% may play a role on what would be more successful. I know Lyle McDonald promotes the PSMF for people with higher BF% and the UD 2.0 for those below 15%. The UD 2.0 is a carb cycling diet.
