Back in the groove after a week off with injury...
Well guys, I am happy to say that I am back in the weight training groove after a week off due to an ab muscle injury. I hit the weights again hard on Sunday and was surprised that I saw very little drop off in strength. I was able to complete my workout that I had planned for last week. However, I must say that I am pretty sore this morning! I was surprised that I was sore after only a week off.

It was a "rest week" not an injury recovery week

Was there a final verdict on what the injury was? or are we still chalking it up to "heart burn" ?

For sure wasn't heart burn but as the week went on the pain went away. Now I am to the point where the odd cough will still give me a strange pulling sensation in the area but for the most part it's gone. I am assuming that it was a pulled ab muscle.

Yeah, that could be it. I pulled a weird one in the middle of my back last week (I think it was where my trap connects to my shoulder blade, what is that rhomboid?) and it only hurts with very specific movements.
Glad you're feeling better though, welcome back.

Thanks, I have been sticking to my diet while not working out and actually lost more weight last week than I have in a long time dropping from 217 to 214lbs. I am thinking that some of that is water in my muscles but I also lost almost 1/2" from my waist. I guess just changing things up can help sometimes.
