    Pain above the knee...

Apologies if this has been brought up before, but i did do a quick search before making this thread...

Anyway, i was doing squats a couple of weeks ago and from no where on one of my lifts i got a really bad pain just above me knee, i guess on the front of my thigh. I tried to do a couple more reps but the pain was still there - it comes on at the bottom of the motion when my knees are bent.

I figured at the time it was due to bad form as my form felt a bit off that day anyway, but i was working out alone so didn't have anyone to spot me or correct what i was doing wrong.

I gave it a couple of weeks rest and tried again today, starting off very light and increasing gradually. I got up to 70KG - about half what i usually squat - and the same pain returned.

Anyone experienced anything similar or know what this might be? Or any suggestions on how to treat it, or who i need to see to treat it?

    Thanks.

I have seen people develop this pain when their knee goes to far over their toe. stand in front of a wall in a squat stance with your toes touching the wall. Squat all the way down if you can make it with out falling and relatively easy you have good squat form if not your doing something wrong.
