basketball players: dealing with players who FOUL alot?

I was playing pickup today and i am 6'4'' and i was playing a guy probably 4 inches below me and 40 lbs below me. Needless to say, I ****ed him up pretty bad, but the fact is he was fouling my. Swatting me non stop. Body checking me when he was 'boxing out', about a thousand reaches/handchecks, jumping on my back when i would drive.

There's an unwritten code where you don't call slight fouls, you only call fouls when they are galringly obvious.

How should i of handled this dude?

When I play pick-up games my rule of thumb is that if it doesn't affect my shot then I'm not going to call it.

I have punch f*ckers for doing that type of thing intentionally in pick-up games. If it is hard contact, but "non-intentional" just call the foul.

Give the dude a taste of his own medicine...Instead of trying to avoid contact when you drive, drive right through the pussy. It'll only take doing this one time and he'll either stop trying to play dirty, or you'll end up fighting. Either way you need to send a message.

In pick up games I won't call a foul unless it's pretty bad, but if your one of the bigger guys on the court and they start doing the hack a shaq crap to keep you from scoring and not even going for the ball when they foul you. Not only call the foul, but start playing rough back.

Really, the bottom line is if you are scoring on him and running the court ... you really don't have to do anything else.

Post him up in the paint. When you get the ball just barrel into him like Shaq. Thats what I do if a phuck pi$$es me off.
I dip my shoulder into him a few times then when I go up for the shot, I make sure my elbow jams him in the chest. =D

Been playing basketball since i was 7 or 8 and this is definitly the same mentality I always take. Pick-games, organized leagues, and highschool ball. If someone wants to get rough with me and im not willing to call the foul or not having the foul called, I will generally get rough back.

You don't worry about him personally. You take what he's doing and make it work against him and his team. Have your teammates run some pick and rolls. or set a pick for you and drive in. Get near the basket and take some passes in always keeping your hands high and just do short jump shots over his mangy head. Don't bring the ball down as part of your jumpshot. Or get way out and when he's aggressively covering you too close, either drive and suddenly jump fadeaway, throw a fake jumpshot if he fakes easily, or make him run into one of his teammates and pass to your man that gets free.

You gotta understand that if he gets the duty of covering someone way taller than him, he has to do SOMETHING. He doesn't want to let you just walk all over him.

That will end the game and possibly start a fight, but certainly leave ill will when you part ways.

yeah agreed. i played him last night.....for the final point i did a pump fake baseline move, he jumped up trying to swat in and just snuck in for the easy lay up. it was funny. **** kid's like that bugggggggg me.
