The Official Carolina Panthers thread!!
I predict we win atleast 10 games this year! Improved our recieving corps getting muhsin muhammad back and adding DJ Hackett. I just hope Jake Delhomme can stay healthy coming off his surgery..

Always liked the Panthers ever since they came into the league. Considering I was what...7 back then, I just loved their colors/uniforms haha. I'm hoping this year is much better than last and we can at least not have to worry about all of our quarterbacks getting killed lol.

Yes i am. I dont know if your aware he had 16 TD's his final year in Carolina. I know he won't come close to that again but moose and jake delhomme always seem to have a good connection and he's a good target opposite Steve Smith better than our number 2 reciever last year so yeah im excited. I mean he had lousy Grossman throwing to him and orton in Chicago.. no wonder he didn't do anything there.

Don't get me wrong, I like Moose, but it seemed like he dropped more than he caught last season.
He's definitely not the same player he used to be.
And lol at you negging me for that.

Yeah i know he's not a great reciever and definitley isnt going to burn anyone deep with his speed lol...he's a good extra target to throw to though when smith is going to be doubled and triple teamed...

He's one of the best blocking receivers ever also. He's aged a lot, but he'll bring a lot of experience to the team, that it's young receivers need.

Probably Jonathan Stewart. De'Angelo Williams and him will split time. I don't think they're gonna have a featured back this year.

I don't know why it took so long for this thread to start talking about the run game...
The only way they split time is when/if Stewart's development is slowed by missed time, due to that turf toe. (Carolina guys, keep an eye on this for me fantasy wise, and if I get him in the auction, and you give me good info I'll rep ya.)
Before the run game got muddled after Davis went down hill, that team was about Power running to open up the pass... Which unless forced to do other wise has always been Fox's repretoir.
If Jonnathan Stewart is completely healthy, he'll play the old "Stephen Davis" role... While DAW is the slash & 3rd down back... DAW (A guy I was high on for 2 years straight) when given the opportunity hasn't been able to perform... And you could pour a bottle of whiskey down the throat of a cross eyed Chimp and it would have a better understanding and execution of blitz pick up!
So while it might take until the second half of the season for this dynamic to emerge... I think Stewart is the second coming of Stephen Davis. (Injury's provided of course.)
And it's going to turn the team into Run to set up the pass... Instead of the recent, pass, and hope we can somehow find a way to run.
*****
Looking for more proof of why Carolina will be returning back to power running...
Look at the Draft, how they traded up to make sure they got Otah (Who was the best O-Lineman left...)
Then look at all their acquisitions and guys brought in for try outs... You don't bring in that many road grader and pulling guards just because you think the local all you can eat Buffet Economy could stand a boost.
And while these Lineman are also to help protect Delhomme and his elbow... The reality is that if he has a problem with that Elbow Post-Tommy-John... It's going to more likely come from hard throwing than hits. (Barring freak accident arm grabs and awkward falls and crap like that etc...)

Ultimately Moose's Job is the be the possesion receiver, and double up as a Mentor...
But also to add Locker room leadership on offense...
Last year with Delhomme out there was a Massive vaccum in Locker room leadership... Because let's face it, Steve Smith for all his talents, is a piss poor personality and **** leader...
Moose brings leadership in the huddle and on the practice field, that they'll need if Delhomme elbow puts him on the pine again.

Just last night I read 2 different articles on subscription sites talking about how it's more likely that Stewart will be Rookie of the Year at the end of the season, than McFadden.
*****
My Fantasy League is an Auction Based, Salary Cap, Dynasty Builder. (Created the Format myself!) Where you can keep a guy up to 3 years, if your Salary cap is managed right...
And I've really got my eye targeted on Stewart Hardcore this year...
Because in an Auction its all about how much you're willing to bid and pay for a guy... Any one in the pool is fair game...
If I can get him for $100 or under (Out of a $500 Cap) I will be able to keep him for 3 years!

What's Carolina's Kick Return game looking like?
Who returned punts for them last year?
