How many weeks out should I do morning cardio?

I am currently 8 weeks out from my first show and was wondering how many weeks out do most of you start doing cardio first thing in the morning on an empty stomach (if you even do it at all). I have been doing cardio 5x a week for 30 minutes after my workouts but I have been told the closer to the show it would be wise to add some first thing in the morning......Thoughts? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

What's your bodyfat at right now? Are you still loosing a consistent 1-2lbs a week?

You only want to do as much cardio as you have to in order to keep the fat coming off. Doing too much will lead to excess muscle loss.

I am not completely sure what my body fat is right now, my guess is somewhere around 9-9.5%, I've been losing 1-2 per week pretty consistently and I am really starting to see a lot of vascularity coming out all over my body, esp in my stomach and legs...

I would add additional minutes to your post workout cardio before adding a morning session. You should try bumping the time to 40 minutes. That should keep you progressing for the next few weeks!

Post up some pictures for a better assessment of where you're at!!!

Agreed! the best thing to do is add some cardio to ur current cardio regime, just to keep that 1.5-2lb range coming off. Then you'll still have the option to add in the morning cardio when you have a stickin point further on down the line. at that point, it will probably be good to add the morning cardio session in on ur off-lifting days, and be doing double sessions on them days...imo that is!
