how much vitamin b12 is too much

I took the liquid form of vitamin b12, twice today. Once this morning and once this afternoon. So the total intake for me was "4000 mcg" Is this too much? I looked on the internet and there are companies selling b12 capsules with 5000 mcg in one serving? How much b12 can you take before it get dangerous?

I am pretty sure vit-b's are water soluable(sp) so there should not be a toxicity danger unless you are taking the entire bottle in a day. You more then likely will just pee it all out. I take b-complex 6-8 a day and have no issues. I take it for skin issues helps in strengthening skin and clearing up blemishes

it water soluble so in order to O.D you'd have to take thousands of times the recommend dose, youll just pee out whatever you dont use so dont worry about it.

Methylcobalamin has excellent tolerability and no known toxicity. I could imagine that with Cyanocobamin you could evenutally take so much that you overwhelm your system with cyanide ... lol ...

    You are fine.

That's an excellent question and I'm glad someone asked it. I take a multi, plus take a ZipFizz prior to working out (41,666% of RDA) and feel like I'm ODing on B6 and/or B12. I'm up to something insane like 70,000% of the RDA of those two vitamins. Maybe it's because I'm a germ-a-phobe and wash my hands 15 times a day, but I will say that I haven't been truly knock-down sick in nearly 3 years.

As people mentioned, vitamin B's are water-soluble. The fat-soluble vitamins are A, D, E, and K. So don't overdose on those for a prolonged period. When it comes to water-soluble vitamins, your body will absorb only what it needs and pretty much piss out the rest. There's really no conclusive side effects to taking large amounts of B's for a prolonged time. It is relatively safe.

Ding, Ding, Ding. We DON'T have a winner here.

Too much B6 (form dependant) - not good unless you like sensory neuropathy.

Too much niacin - not good unless you hate your liver.

B-12 is generally safe. That dose should be fine. I've taken up to 20 mg (20,000 mcg).

Just search "tolerable upper limits B12" at any search engine, there you'll find your answer

None reported means there is none. So you can intake as much as you like because you will piss it out. As I recall your dumb question asked how much b12 is too much? Well there is your answer you roided up idiot, learn how to understand what you are reading.

I looked on the internet and there are companies selling b12 capsules with 5000 mcg in one serving? How much b12 can you take before it get dangerous?
Hello! This is Zipfizz here. The amount of B12 in our products is the same amount of B12 in a shot that you would get at the doctor's office. Also, it is water soluble so you body absorbs what it needs and the rest you pee out. We do not recommend having more than 3 of our energy mix and no more than 2 of our shots.
