Novice Qualifications
I am doing my first show this year at the East Tennessee Bodybuilding and Figure Expo ( http://www.easttnsportsexpo.com/) and I had a question for those of you with experience. I was under the impression that to compete in the novice division of a show, it is for first time competitors ONLY. However, recently I have heard that if you haven't competed in 5 years or if it is your first time doing that particular show you are allowed to do novice. Can anyone please help clear this up, your help would be greatly appreciated.

Actually, anybody can do novice as long as you havent won a Novice or Open show before. There are no other restrictions. Some shows have a "first time" or "101" division, but this is seperate from the novice.
Good luck!

God given that show will eventually take over as TN's biggest show. I am doing the Knox Show in 3.5 weeks. I will bet everything that this will be the LAST year for the Knox...since the promoter gave it up last year I just don't think it will have a good turnout. You will end having 3 next year I think...
Chatt
Tn State
Expo
I will be at the Expo more than likely given stuff away for the company I work for

I don't know about the 5 years, but if you have won a novice that is the last novice you may enter. NPC keeps lifetime records.

Yea, I've heard some really good things about the show and all the people that are working behind it. I'm very excited about it being my first show, I've played football for the past 4 years at Middle Tennessee State and decided to give bodybuilding a go. What booth will you be working at!?

I am trying to get my company to set up there we shall see... They don't like more than a couple of supplement companies setting up at these local things. These franchise guys get a little ticked off..

Hey Rob! yeah man they are having MMA and powelifting, it will setup like the Arnold... this is why I believe you will see the Knox Classic go bye bye after this year. I am 184 right and was 183 onstage in Chatt... Dropping down to do the open milddles and greater knox middle. I will see you in 3 weeks!
Do the show I GARUNTEE the turnout won't be good, but at least you can say I did the Knox the last year they had it, becuase trust me I just have a feeling this will the last year for it....
