2008 Olympia: Earn $1,000!
Are you a die-hard Olympia fanatic? Can't wait to meet your favorite IFBB Pro bodybuilder in person at this year's Olympia?
You might just be the person we're looking for! Bodybuilding.com would like to highlight a BodySpace member this year to get a "Fan's Perspective" added to our Olympia coverage this year! Here's the deal:
We're looking for a tech-savvy BodySpace/forum member who will be making a roadtrip to the 2008 Olympia weekend to:
1) be a contributing author on this year's BodySpace Olympia Blog.
2) film their full Olympia experience, starting immediately and continuing through the Olympia Weekend.
We'll send out a video camera and plenty of tapes! Perks of this contest include:
A) Being featured in our Olympia coverage and in our Video Series section.
B) Get an exclusive "video shoutout" from your favorite IFBB Pro athlete at the Olympia or an autographed photo of him/her.
C) $500 worth of BB.com online supplement store credit!
D) $500 in cash to recover gasoline expenses!
E) Limited press pass which will allow you to film in some areas that don't usually allow video cameras.
If you'd like to be considered for this contest, please reply in this thread with a 250-word essay describing why you should be chosen to represent Bodybuilding.com and have your video series seen by tens of thousands of bodybuilding fans!
Check out all our 2008 Olympia coverage right here:

I thought that $1000 was what they would pay the winner this year.. Sounds pretty Weider-ish.
Nah, but seriously: ****ing Sweden, why do I live here?
I'll be all over this offer in three years.

Mr. Moody-spaceadmin, do you know if you will have this "offer" again next year?
If I could affoard the planeticket and hotel this year I'd be all over it! I'd just get on a plane and go if I was in the financial position to do it! Filming and blogging for bodybuilding.com during the stay would be like a dream come true for me. I go to a special (not special in THAT way) school here in Sweden focused mainly on English, and it would also be a great experience personally for me to go to the U.S and see my first Olympia.
Pro bodybuilding is my number one interest, and it's a shame that I have to rely on the internet to watch the pro shows. Bodybuilding.com has given a lot to me when it comes to contest coverage, and I'd love to be able to give something back to the site and community!

Please Pick Me!!!
Bodybuilding has been my passion since the age of 10 when I first watched Pumping Iron. That is when my dad bought me a DP bench and concrete weight set. Since that time, bodybuilding has been my passion.
This will be my first trip to the Olympia. In fact, this will be my first bodybuilding show ever. I have not had the chance to go to the Olympia before because of money issues. During my seven years of college and graduate studies money was tight and I could not afford to go to the Olympia. Now that my financial situation is better, my wife and I will be road tripping from South Carolina to Nevada for the Olympia.
I am so excited that my first contest will be the biggest of them all, the Mr. Olympia. It will be awesome to see my heroes competing live on stage. During high school and college my friends and I would bulk over the winter and cut during the summer and try to peak during the dates of the Olympia. We would have our own mini Mr. Olympia contest while the real thing was going on.
My writing skills make me the perfect choice because I will produce passionate and articulate blog entries. Further, my true love for the sport will make very entertaining video footage. Please make my first bodybuilding show a dream come true. Please select me to represent Bodybuilding.com at the 2008 Mr. Olympia.

Would I still be eligible for the $500 cash reimbursement if I'm flying down? That could cover the cost of my ticket etc.

Filming the 2008 Olympia Experience
Making a roadtrip has never been so fun. A friend of mine, Wayne, and I both took the road trip to the 2007 Olympia Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada. We started from home base - Phoenix, Arizona - on a whim, just because we love bodybuilding, live bodybuilding, and wanted to see the absolute best in the business, in person. We were not disappointed.
As a matter of fact, we were so pumped about the whole experience that we decided (on Expo day 1) that we would return in 2008, no matter what. And that is still the plan.
I have never created a documentary, but I have created short films on my own. It would be amazing to be able to film the weekend from our point of view. Just a couple of financially unstable guys enjoying their 20's, lifting heavy all the time, drinking more protein shakes than is probably good for us, and having fun in Las Vegas. That would be incredible. We would take the opportunity and be pumped.
