? so do you think i should have this raisin / whey snack, or just add more protein / carbs to another meal
i only need about 30 protein 30 carbs to make my macro's complete
edit:
my main problem is i dont want to crash like 30 mins after eating this meal if it truly is "nothing but sugar"Last edited by syssstem; 07-14-2008 at 06:35 PM.

High GI: 70 and above
Medium GI: 56 to 69
Low GI: 55 and under
Raisins have a GI value of around 64, making them "medium". So, they're not too bad, I doubt you'll crash from a 1/4 cup of raisins. Moderation is the key though, and everyone is different. Or maybe try low GI fruits like strawberries, blueberries, apples, etc.
Just make sure the raisins you're buying aren't sweetened with sugar, as that will increase the GI value.

Raisins are probably too high in sugar. Eat some grapes instead.

I just bought about a kilo of raisins to mix in with my daily meals to hit my macros as well. I'm using various fresh fruits right now until I'm out then I'm be using about 2 tbs with my first two meals instead of a banana or some watermelon.
I'm curious what others think about raisins since I thought they would be as good as any other fruit with a meal to hit targets as long as they are not artificially sweetened."Excellence is not a skill. It is an attitude."
