We had a red tail shark in our tank. It was pretty cool.
Blue neon tetra's look awesome, but I can't find a decent photo apart from this one that won't embed:

I like Salt Water Reed tanks the best because even if you have 29 gal you can
stock it better. like this
15 hermit crabs
2 clown fish
10 snails
1 anenome
plenty of coral
1 watchermen goby
30lbs of live rock(have living organisms like isopods and stuff on it)
50ls of live sand ( same thing)USN VETERAN

I don't find it that time consuming. I have a 55 gallon salty and after the first few months it has become pretty maintenance free - minus cleaning the glass, change the filters every once in a while, and doing a 5 gallon water change every week or two.
It's also not too costly to keep. Just kind of expensive to start.

Check out Afircan Cichlids. Me and my wife a fish tank with them a couple of years ago. Some of them can be aggressive but they are cool looking fish.
Google African cichlids and you should find many pictures of different fish. Here are some of the first pictures I found. There are hundreds of different kinds of them I think.
You can buy them from most any pet store ranging from $2 to probably $20 a fish.
