    roast beef: good or bad

    im talkin the slices u get from the deli
    tastes pretty decent in a sandwhich, good source of protein, not too high in fat

    what do u think?
    good alternative when tuna, chicken breasts, and egg whites get old?

    Deli meats are by definition processed foods, and in the modern deli meat often loaded with far more than salt. You're talking wheat-based flavorings, preservatives (BHT, nitrates, etc.), and obviously colorings, and potentially some sweeteners. The meat is generally of lower quality, too.

    Given that they're also usually more expensive per pound than regular meats, I would eat these sparingly. You also have to be careful where you buy these things from because if mishandled or otherwise purchased from shadier locations they can be loaded with microorganisms, potentially pathogenic.
