Could be uneven tire wear, caused by bad alignment or old tires. You should take into a tire place and have them check it out. (serious)

You need to get your tires balanced. There may be mud inside the wheels that is throwing them out of balance.

Front wheels= vibration in steering wheel

Rear wheels = vibration in seat

there IS a difference between alignment and balanced tires. Shaking at higher speeds means your tires are out of balance. You car may or may not also need to be aligned. Tire balancing is cheap. Alignment can cost 100+ bucks.

This is all completely unrelated to alignment. Alignment issues cause a vehicle to pull. Shaking of the steering wheel is unbalanced tires and unbalanced tires only.

This man speaks the truth, alignment is usually when you let go of the wheel and you veer to the left or right. Unbalanced tires is where your car shakes or vibrates.

my tires are good, i know that for a fact. got new ones last year. my car's also AWD, don't know if that makes any difference.

yep, any idiot mechanic can do it. They spin it on a machine and the computer tells them exactly where to put the weight. Wal-mart does it for a few bucks a tire.

Your car is most likely out of alignment. In extreme cases you can have a bent tie rod or a defective steering stabilizer.

but a bad alingnment can lead to bad tire wear......thus resul;ting imn unbalanced tires

from experience, years ago(before i took care of my cars) i used tp drive my car 60 miles a day to and fro work...

one day i got horrible shaking from my car

i took it too my tire shop and they showed me my alinment was so bad that one side of my tires was worn down to the steel belt, while the other side had decent tread
    See you, Space Cowboy.........
