Actually it sounds like she was talking to someone, but it wasn't serious and out of no where, it became serious. That's at least what I got from that. It all probably happened after she wrote that b.s in his year book, and before he text her asking to hang out. If she didn't care for said boyfriend, she would have just hung out with OP or scheduled something. She's still weird, so I'd still tell OP to forget her completely.
