Ok, My gym doesnt even have one, so everyone knows now. I only use the regular rack. But i have heard that a smith squat have many benefits. For one, for people who are having a lot of trouble getting the form down for normal squats it is good practice and good for stenghtening the quads. It allows you to lean back more (of course than many stabilizers are not used though).
The other thing was that it isolates the quads more, and allows people to hit the quads much harder as opposed to hitting the quads and many other lower body muscles.
Is any of this true, it all makes sense to me, but i am not sure.

Hack Squats will give you the effect youre looking for.
If what I see does not amaze me, I am not looking hard enough.
The more you learn, the more you realize you don't know.
