Brown Sugar vs White Sugar vs Splenda

Ok, I know its wise not to use white sugar for sweetening your oats, but what about brown sugar?

Or are all sugars something you want to try and avoid when weightlifting/bodybuilding?

I also have splenda, but kinda hesitant considering I have no idea what i'm eating lol

Sugar is sugar. Sugar is not Splenda. A small amount of sugar once in a while won't make a difference. It's when you start overusing it that it becomes an issue.

Sugar is crap, regardless of color. Splenda is crap.

If you need to sweeten your oats, try using some raw honey. It's damn good for you. Or blackstrap molasses...also damn good for you plus full of minerals.

brown sugar just has molasses added to give it the brown color, and it is nutritionally equivalent to white sugar. As for Splenda, we are basically the long term study of its effects, so take your chances as you will. I use Stevia or raw unfiltered unheated honey.

look into Agave Nectar... Lower GI than honey, just as sweet, and has a delicious taste. You can use it just like you would sugar or honey. It's a central/south american sweetener.

sugar is in fact sugar. "healthy" sugar is in fact sugar.

thinking that sugar with some minute amount of nutrients is gonna better your life is laughable.

agave nectar is like 80% fructose. if you're one of those anti-HFCS nuts, turning to agave nectar is hilarious.

in conclusion, use what you like just make sure it fits in your diet.

I cook apple slices with my oats to sweeten it a little and bypass sugar all together.

too much splenda reeks havoc on my stomach and backs me up but 1-2 packets a day is golden for me...also stevia is a really good alternative for an artificial sweetener...just has a little bit of a weird after taste.
