The new gym i'm about to go to (24 hour fitness) costs about 179.99 for the processing fee, first month and last month, and costs 31.99 for each continuing month....
The bus also costs 75 cents a ride now, went up a quarter.
Worth paying all this or getting a home gym for 500 bucks with a bench/incline/decline/curl/leg ex bench, barbell w/300 total weights, and dumbbells from 5-40? (Can put all weight into one dumbell so it can go to 80 lbs for one db)

Idk, I think I would get a good workout home, but sometimes working out at the gym gives me good inspiration and stuff like that

Yeah man, i'd rather just have to walk outside into my shed to be able to do a mad workout then have to pay $600 a year plus fuel, to do the same workouts. All you really miss out on is a few machines, try to get some of your friends to come around and train with you too, that would give you the motivational edge the gym can give you.

home gym.
all the gyms near me are cardio and machines, no free weights apart from bench and smith - so they're not an option.
The initial outlay is expensive but it's payed for itself within a few months. Plus, I would miss workouts if I had to bus it to the gym everyday, at home I can workout whenever, have a kitchen 30 seconds from my gym and can play whatever music as loud as I want - I hate gym music, and dont like using ipods when I workout.

i've spent a fair bit of money on my home gym, but it's pretty awesome. you have to look for deals. i bought a first hand power rack and bench and got my weights cheap. 6 ivanko 25kg plates for the UK equivalent of 260 dollars (they're worth over 1200)
