I was trying to look it up and all i found was that a couch potatoes can lose 20% of his muscle size in 2 weeks, but i dont think it is a very legit answer. So does any one one how long it takes for muscles to shrink a somewhat significant size, assuming you didnt work that muscle for some time?

i duno, that doesn't sound right to me.
i read something about being sick and out of BBing for 1 month, can make you lose up to 13% of muscle mass.
if this couch potato starved himself, i could see -20% being possibleSUBSCRIBE:

Idt its that fast. I just went to the gym with my dad who hasn't been in since 2002 and his arms are still 18s. He says he was around 19s in his prime (I don't remember because I was a baby). But his legs... either atrophied heavily or he just neevr worked on them. I think the latter because his "full body" workout consisted of everything. Except legs. Lol

There's too many factors, i have had been out of the gym for 2months and did not lose any weight, and i came back to the gym without losing strength, except for deadlifts, but i had strained my back soo many times in the time period and dislocated my spine.
The amount of food eaten will affect the amount of muscle you would lose.

So you are nearly safe if you ate well?
I took a week off, then the second week did not get to workout much nor this week, but i am glad i can finally start doing my full routine next week, for this week i am trying to save as much possible for the moment. But its not like i have been much of couch potatoe. Thanks for the replies.
