Novice to BB - my wk1 pics
Hi all
Thought that I would introduce myself, just joined this fantastic site and have bitten the bullet to have my "before" pics posted? They are...ugh! The cellulite, belly fat etc, but these pics shall be my motivation! I'm sitting @ 21%bf, 120lbs and am 5ft3. I was wondering if anyone out there can give me any feedback/ideas on roughly what time frames (the average) it would take someone to drop bf% doing wts 4x and cardio3x per week?

The slower you lose the happier you will be with how you will look. The reason, keeping the muscles you have and growing them more. The temptation to drop weight faster (more than 1 pound a week at your weight) can easily result in loss of muscle. If you can go even slower, like 0.5 pounds a week that would be better.
If you focus on lifting weights and your diet you will do more for fat loss than doing a bunch of cardio. Your schedule looks fine if you are hitting the weights hard and not exceeding 30 minutes of cardio. But again, diet is critical.
As for how long, you can make a huge difference in 6 months. After that, well goals have a way of changing once you get into it

Just wanted to say you actually dont look 'ugh' as you describe, you have a wonderfull base to start building muscle, and you are not holding too much fat, you have a nice figure to start, so any changes you make you will look amazing, good luck!

Hey buttercup852, lovely comment - thank you. I have had 4 children and I guess I have always thought that loosing the "wobbly bits" would be way too hard, but after checking out all the wonderful transformations people have made I'm starting to think that maybe I too can do it! :-)

You've had 4 babies! In that case you look amazing!
I agree the transformations in women on here especially the ones that have had children is what spurs me on, I have only had 2 children, but I am pleased with the progress I am making soo far, its not impossible, you go for it!

I agree with freebirdmac. The best results come slowly. Most people, when given a number to aim for will do EVERYTHING they can to hit or exceed those numbers and it backfires.
At 21% bf, you have no fat that you NEED to lose (at least from a health perspective, which is all your body cares about). Make sure that you keep at least maintaining muscle in mind because your body isn't going to want to give the fat you have up. It's going to need a reason to keep muscle.
You have a lot going for you already. You're already pretty lean so big changes will take place with relatively small amounts of fat loss (so long as all you are losing is fat). Wide shoulders, narrow waist (v-taper shouldn't be a problem for you) and your legs are shaped nicely.
