plant power
kay i'll write how fruits and vegtables benifit the body and mind. this is strate from the magazine.
vegtables
potato. thanks to the french fry, this is americas most consumed veggie. composed mostly of fast-burning starch, white spuds should be eatin only post workout, when their folate and potassium will be best used to boost muscle growht and aid recoevery
tomao
tomatoes contain loads of lycopene, a phtcohemical that fights heart disease anc cancer and boosts the bosy's levels of an anabolic chemical called insulinlike growth factor-1, which is involeved in muscle growth.
brocolli
it is full of phtochemicals with complicated names, of of which helps keep testerone levels up and water retention and fat starage dwon by neatralizing "bad" estrogens in the liver.
spinach
pepey's spinach-muscle connection wasn't imaginary. spinach is rich in three muscle-boosting compounds: octaconsanal to increase strenght, 20-beta-ecdysterone to boost protein synthises in muscles, and glutamin, the amino acid linked to muscle growth and intestinal health.
onion
the onion contains allyl propyl dissulfide and chromium, both of which influence insulin secreation and can help contol blood-sugar levels. also in the mix: quercetin, and anti-inflamitory that may help speed recovery.
probably some typos, but you get the point. i have one on fruits i'll type later if anyone wants me to.

You definately need veggies and fruits alongside meat and a good multi.I try to have a peice of fruit or a serving of veggies with each meal.In fact I do other than meals that are shakes only(one or two out of 7-8 meals)
