O/T I know most are not into this but...good deal...
I know you guys are not into this **** but I am so i just wanted to share this:
I have been shopping around to get Lamborghini doors on my ride. Best I could get was $3000. My brother in law found this guy who does it right in his garage for $1000.00 total.
At first I was skeptical so I went to see his work the guy does great F'cking work. He was working on a Honda Civic and that **** looked sic!
Most street work on the doors come out crappy and the doors are loose, but his work is tight and the door goes up very easily once it is open. I hit him up with $800.00 yesterday so he can order the parts and then I will hit him up with $200 for the labor. Of course I will bless him with some more once the work is done.
Because my car is a convertible the door will open up even smoother.
I AM THE DANGER, I AM THE ONE WHO KNOCKS!

Nice! Are you going to store it during the cold weather months?
Might want to consider that as the fluid in the lifters tend to thin out in the cold. A door slamming down on your wife's leg probably isn't something you'd want.
Seriously, make sure the lifters the guy puts on are good ones.

This ^ is what would worry me a bit. $200 for labor? I realize it's "Street labor", but that's scary cheap.

I didn't know that, but I don't drive my car in the winter I store it in my garage. It only has 37k miles on it and I bought it in 2001 spanking new with 0 miles on it!
I don't drive it in the winter because of my Chrome rims the salt and **** when it snows f'cks up the rims.

Yeah but he is a friend of my brother in law so he is looking out for me, but I am going to hit him off though.

Sounds like fun, can't wait to see it finished My ex-husband just bought me a 1971 Monte Carlo, it was the car I always wanted, and he got a GREAT deal on it. It had a couple rust spots near the back window so we're getting bodywork done and re painted. I can't wait till it's done. I do have a before photo if you would like to see it.

Thats a nice ride, used to own a 74 monte carlo (had the swivel seats) nice car. Im still waiting on a 76 vette though got a few more years before its reality though.
@Bodyhard: You know the deal with street work, some guys are just awesome but if you have a problem the only recourse you have is the street. I'd feel better about it if he had a reference or two so you could talk to them.

Ohh he has done work for everyone in my brother in laws neighborhood. My BIL would not steer me wrong....The work he did on the Honda Civic was tight, he is also rewiring my BIL Minivan and throwing some HID's in the front.
But and this is a big but if he F'cks me over I know exactly where he lives as he does all his work right from his garage....

Back in the mid 80's I worked in a bad area of Atlanta (West end). I had a sizable dent in my driver side door of 84' T-top Camaro. A guy came in off the street ans said he'd fix it for something like $75. Long story short, I actually let him do it, and even let him drive it to a lot nearby so he'd have more room. But before he drove it off, he already started jabbing the **** out of it with a tool (long, sharp, metal pole).....I about **** when I saw this, lofl. Anyway, the guy took half a day and did an excellent job. Now, it just needed paint. Best $75 I ever spent!

Thanks!! Long story short. when we divorced (way too young 20 years old) I gave him everything - house - new truck - All I wanted was my kid. He saved the truck and never drove it after that, and he put it in storage. Now it's 16 years later, we're best friends, I set him up with his wife, his son is my god son and he and his wife were going to give me the truck now all fixed up and looking perfect - the guy's place that it was getting repainted at caught on fire with the truck in it So he found my Monte Carlo and bought it with the insurance money he got for the truck. I thought it was the greatest thing ever. We're not a normal divorce story but it sure works out for my daughter!!

It sounds like things turned out well and I'm sure your daughter benefits from the great relationship. Kudos to both of you .

Man! I wonder if I could get that done on our 2000 Odyssey?
John McCain:
"You know, I think you may have noticed that Senator Obama's supporters have been saying some pretty nasty things about Western Pennsylvania lately. And you know, I couldn't agree with them more. I couldn't disagree with you. I couldn't agree with you more than the fact that Western Pennsylvania is the most patriotic, most god-loving, most, most patriotic part of America, and this is a great part of the country."
