Question EC stack while on Wellbutrin XL & Armour

I want to take the EC stack and I have gathered information mainly from BB.com and hotnfit.com. My question is that, I take the following medications and need to know if it is safe for me to take the EC stack as well. TIA for any help!

Wellbutrin (Budeprion XL) 150mg (8am)
Armour 90mg (8am)
Buspar (Buspirone HCL) 7.5mg (8am)

Armour 90mg (3pm)
Buspar 7.5mg (3pm)

Lunesta 1mg (11pm)

I have just started on the Wellbutrin, Buspar and Lunesta (last week). I was on Synthroid (1 year-gained an add'l 20lbs-I am hypothyroid and have Hashimoto's disease) but was switched to Armour about 2 months ago ( I have dropped 8lbs since the switch.)

I do cardio 5-6 days per week for 30 mins and light weight training.

I am 5'-4" 191lbs and am trying to drop baby weight I've carried around since having my daughter 2.5 years ago.

Umm, I would ask your doctor. Wouldn't want to risk any complications

I did ask my endocrinologist about taking any kind of vitamins, supplements or fat-burners and he said "don't take anything other than a multi-vitamin." He said the only way to lose weight is by diet and exercise. Obviously, I don't agree with his theory and I am seeking alternatives since the diet and exercise are not getting me the results I want.

Thanks for the response though! :-)

Honestly, I think it would be a little risky. I feel ya on the baby weight, I was over 200pds with both my kids but it did come off. I had to join weight watchers and I also hired a trainer but it came off. Good luck, I know how frustrating it is but you don't want to do anything to risk your health

Definitely stay away from the combination. Wellbutrin is also mentioned on my site as a drug it should not be combined with (nor any other antidepressant).

Also, I would not take/recommend ephedrine with thyroid problems.

I'd say its not good. I'd assume it would effect your meds.

All stimulant based fat burners are risky with thyroid problems and when being treated for those problems.

Perhaps you should look into hiring a dietician.

Does the same rule apply to mood stabilizers (i.e. Lithium) and antipsychotics (Seroquel)? Just curious.

Wellbutrin has warnings about mixing with any stimulant - and ephedra/ephedrine is definitely a stimulant - because of the way they interact. Even caffeine should be used a bit more moderately because the combination can lead to seizures.

Anyone with a serious psychiatric condition should not take the EC stack (ie. depression, manic depression, panic, etc).

Update...

So, I did talk to my family doctor about the situation with dieting/exercising and still not dropping significant weight. I am not going to do the EC stack. I did take one dose for 3 days but nothing happened except I had to pee every 5 minutes. ha. My doctor, while taking into consideration my other meds, is putting me on Glucophage XR. My mother developed Type II diabetes late in life and because of this factor, the doctor feels that this diabetic medication will help me to lose weight. I have read through the forums on here (about Glucophage) but most of them are about people with PCOS or bodybuilders trying to carb-up and cut.

Has anyone had any experience with taking Glucophage XR who is NOT a diabetic and does not have PCOS...any women that took it specifically for weight loss?

TIA for any info! :-)
