Animal Pump Head Rush
I have just started using Animal Pump and it works great. One problem though is after my first couple of heavy reps I get this terrible head rush pain in the back left side of my head. It's very much like brain freeze from eating ice cream too fast. It is more painful than uncomfortable. It doesn't fade as quickly as the brain freeze does. I think this could be dangerous (ya think!) so I'm going to go without the red pill that contains the stims and see if that could be what's causing it. If this still occurs after that, I'm afraid I'll have to return it to the store.
Anyone have a similar experience? If so, did it just take a while to get used to it and go away?
I barely function adequately with my brain the way it is, so I need to eliminate the possibility of any interference.

I have been using pump on and off for over a year now... With the red pill and without. I have never had that problem from the product per se, but it does occur from time to time. Mostly brought on by poor technique on my part, in the way of forgetting to breath! the only time I forget to breath is when I'm doing heavy working sets. Not saying you arent breathing correctly, just putting it out there from my experiences.
I say give it a go without the stim for a few days. If the problem persists, simply return it to Universal/Animal. It's part of the Iron Clad promise on the can...
Best of luck! I hope that this issue clears up soon.

Its a time released stim... I take PUMP with the little red pill most of the time and no problems. The energy is a sustained form much different form the "rush" you get with other pre- work out formulas.

stimulants...
like brocton said, poor breathing. what you've described is exactly what happens to me during the bench and deadlifts because i oftentimes forget to breathe correctly; with pump or without.

Here's whats in it:
Energy Rush Complex** 500mg
Methylxanthine Complex (Caffeine, Theobromine Theophylline) *
Evodiamine *
Vinpocetine
Most of the feedback we get on it is that it is milder than most pre workout supplements. Animal Pump is less reliant on stims than other products. It gives you a smoother, steadier energy. Of course everyone reacts differently.

Breathing is the first thing I focused on when I started to get the pain in my head. I have experienced strain pain from not breathing properly when lifting before and I know breathing correctly is important for correct form and results. This is different.
But on a positive note, Animal Pump really works. I love Animal products. I'll find out what's causing this.
Maybe my brain is just too big and powerful and the blood vessels just don't have any room to play?

Took out the red stims pill for my killer workout on Saturday. But I did stop on the way to the gym and get a large 7-11 coffee just for the caffine. I had a great workout and did not get the painful head rush I experienced before. My squats were a new personal best and really surprised me. I started out with several good warm up sets and then loaded the bar with a lot of weight. I told my workout partner I was just wanting to get the feel of this weight on my back and did not plan on repping it. But it didn't feel as heavy as I expected and so I went ahead and did my reps with it. I was really shocked. I did my 5 sets of squats with that weight and was happy all weekend.

I took half of the red capsule and no head rush. I could tell a difference and it seemed okay. Still had good energy and focus.

No head rush
As I thought might happen, I have been able to take the whole red pill without any head rush. My first thought was that i would get used to it and not experience the painful headaches I was having in the beginning.
Overall, I think Animal Pump is excellent. I will continue to use it.
