Puffed Whole Grain Cereals

How is puffed whole grain cereal? Puffed kamut, for example, has 1 ingredient - puffed organic whole grain kamut. I'm wondering what the "puffed" does to the grain. Does it make it more processed, therefore not as good? Is something like shredded wheat or 100% whole wheat bread a better source of carbs? If so, would you mind explaining why.

Puffed wheat/kashi/etc is great. Anything done to anything is "processing". It doesn't necessarily make it any worse. Chewing your food is making it processed food.

The only reason people say stay away from processed is that they usually have more sugar, fat, preservatives and artificial crap. If it doesn't have any of those things what do you have to worry. Your cereal sounds great to me

Dude, Kashi Go lean has like 14 grams of protein in a cup. That is awesome for CEREAL. Plus it has like 9 grams of fiber and its 100 % whole grains (I think 9 kinds). -- Go Lean Crunch has more sugar and less protein (I believe only nine grams).

Good alternative for a snack or breakfast with a protein shake!
