Question Are All Rice Created Equal?

I've been trying to clean up my diet and have started shopping at one of the local natural food stores. My question is, what makes a rice good or bad for you? Of course, it's a given that fried rice is a no-no but for all other brands and styles are they ok as long as they are kept within the right portion size? Cause I dont know about anyone else but brown rice a few times a week gets old quick! lol
So I am trying to add variety to help myself stick to a decent diet. As of right now, I have a box of Seeds of Change organic seven grain pilaf blend and organic tuscan style rice and beans. Would rice with flavor hinder any progress and/or goals? If anyone could shed some light on this, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

basically it's white vs brown. Brown has WAY more nutritional value over white. White ends up being empty calories so definitely go for brown rice

"Fried Rice"

Hi. I make a "fried" rice that is pretty healthy and is equally as good as the fat laden stuff at the mall or chinese restaurant. I fry my meat up or use precooked meat and heat in a pan sprayed lightly with olive oil, add my veggies I want and let cook, then add one cup of rice to the entire mixture, followed by light sodium soy sauce. Makes a huge pan with leftovers. I don't add any salt other than what is in the soy sauce, so taste great and is yummy. I also have a microwave rice cooker that you can buy at Walmart and I put 1 cup brown rice, 2 cups of water, add veggies, onions, or seasoning of choice, cook, let set for a few, fluff and is yummy. Doing it this way, their are hundreds of variations to make it taste different flavored.

duh, I didn't even answer your question.
Have you tried cooking your brown rice in chicken broth? I use half water, have chicken/veg/beef stock, gives it great flavor
Also have you tried quinoa
