Do ALL you can to avoid these places. Chinese buffets are the devil. Went to a huge chinese buffet a few weeks ago and left feeling like a bloated greaseball.. and I tried to eat as healthy as I could!
(And no, I'm not one of these people who measure and weigh their food and count calories.. I eat out often)

Dude, there are SO MANY healthy options at china buffet, I can't believe you even posted this.
Shrimp, octopus, mussels, sushi, crab, duck, beef ribs (this have a bit of bbq sauce, no biggie)/roast beef, clams, crawfish, salmon, sole filet, tilapia, brocolli, corn, ......... seriously, its the healthiest restaurant I know of. Just stay away from the fried/breaded crap.
I get the impression from most of the post on here that my local china buffet is much much bigger than most, but I'm sure yours has at least some of those options.^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I'm happy to report to you that I do not have an eating disorder. I eat out at least 4 times per week at random places including buffets. There's not much healthy about chinese buffets, at least the ones near me. Eating at chinese buffets and weight loss do not go hand in hand. Maybe if you have some extreme self control and hardly eat anything, that would be fine. All the sauce and fried **** at the very least will make you feel like crap afterwards.

Well I'm taking into account the amount of calories which are hidden in a ton of dishes they have at these buffets, you'll overeat before you know it. For some people I know that's not a bad thing..
But come on, a Chinese buffet is definitely one of the un-healthiest places to eat. EXTREMELY high in sodium, all this fried crap. Yeah, not very good for your health. But it's all about energy balance isn't it....
How many of us are going to pass on the General Tso's chicken, etc. etc. You can eat healthy at these places but how boring would that be. Corn.. broccoli.. spinach.. cabbage..

You, my friend, are a 10/10 on the "omg everyone in the nutrition section has an eating disorder" scale.....
I have an eating disorder because I hate going to chinese buffets? Alright.. if you say so.. maybe I just don't feel like eating 7,000mg of sodium at 1 sitting? Ever think of that? Eh?
I'll admit maybe I came down a bit too harsh on chinese buffets in my first post, but I had a bad experience last time I went to one a few weeks ago. Their food was all greasy and old.

If your not a professional bodybuilder or preparing for a competition then go eat out. Live your life, eating out at a buffet 1 time a week is not going to kill you or hurt you. I have gone to chinese buffets twice in one week before, im not fat or did I gain any fat. Its cals in vs out either way, and personally I wouldnt call it a cheat either. ITS FOOD, who says what foods are cheats and not? only u can.

I know that's an overestimation, but I feel you just contradicted yourself there!
Seriously, I don't go to buffets ever, but when I get chinese I get the ocean-style seafood (shrimps, grouper, veggies, squid, scallops in a garlic-ginger white sauce that's not thick/sweet). I love it.
DOn't expect to eat 100% clean, make sensible choices, but if you want to use your "cheat meal" at a different time, I understand (cake>>>chinese buffet )KARMA; reps for life:

Not on the list? Don't worry! There's still plenty of chances to achieve good karma.
