    Does your height affect your calorie intake?

    Hi everyone, I was just wondering if height plays a factor in determining your calorie intake and maintenance level. I used the calculators on BB.com and they all say that I should eat over 2000 calories to put on some muscle but because I am short I think that 2000 calories is too much.

    I have counted my calories during the week and I roughly have about 1500 calories a day, I think I can bump it up to 1700 calories. Do you think that is high enough for some muscle mass?

    Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

    I'd say no. I'm 5'6 and I need to eat 3500-4000 kcal a day to put on mass. I seriously doubt you'll be able to add muscle at 1700 or 2000 kcal/day.

    u eat 3.5-4k for gain clean mass or dirty?
    because i am 5'8 147 and eat 2.5k for gain mass

    Mostly clean, but I'll eat what I have to to get the calories in. I'm pretty active, so I probably burn a lot too.

    yes i think i need jump my calories too i am running 25miles a week and with 2400-500 now i dont gain nothing..

    bump it to 2000-2500 if you can..
    if your finding it hard to get it up them just have some spoons of peanut btter or a few nuts or have more constant meals

    you won't put on mass at 1700 kcal...1600 kcal is a manteinace diet for a sedentary woman....

    Thanks to everyone who replied, I will bump my calories up to 2000 for 3 weeks and see if i put on some mass, if i don't i will go up to 2500 calories.
