Unhappy Back Pic; Whats up w/my spine?

First time posting pics in this forum, too bad it's not on a more positive note

Took some updated pics earlier tonight, but I didn't like what I found. My spine looks to be misaligned. Should I go see a chiropractor? Any stretching I can do to help?

Nope, no doctor ever said anything to me about it; I haven't been to the doctor in awhile though. I also never get any back pain, or discomfort at all, if it wasn't for these pics I took tonight, I wouldn't even know my spine was misaligned

You have scoliosis. It's no biggie. The only time it is a problem is if it causes you pain. I have it too. But yeah go get it checked out anyway. They might take a couple X-rays just to see the degree of deviation.

I don't know if this applies to you as well, but I was told by the specialist that there is nothing you can do about it apart from surgery, which is too dangerous to perform unless the deviation is too great and it causes pain or disability.

I'd be interested to hear if the doctor says there is anything you can do for yours though.. Let me know

Thanks guys for the comments and suggestions. I'm definitely going to make an appoitment to go see a doctor soon. Like I said, I haven't felt any discomfort or pain from this, and if it wasn't for the pics, I wouldn't have known.

I've been trying to find some old photos that showed my back to compare, and I found a few from about 2 years ago in which my spine wasn't like this. So I guess it has slowly misaligned within that time frame.

I've been trying to do my homework on misaligned spines and scoliosis since last night, and it seems that in most cases where the the angle of the curve isn't too severe, a chiropractor can help straighten out the spine. Surgery seems to be held for more extreme cases where there is a greater curve and back pain.

First off it looks like it hasn't exactly effected your progress, you look fantastic. Secondly I'd go see a good Chiro...through 4-6 weeks of going in routinely he might be able to line you out so you only have to go quarterly to keep it straight.

Yep, scoliosis for sure. Your doctor will tell you to increase "core strength" which I'm guessing you will already have a good level of!

I bet your hamstrings/glutes are way tighter on one side also.. Have a go at stretching them individually to see and then use developmental stretches to even things out.. It will help a great deal

(Developmental stretching involves take a muscle to the point of stretch, holding at that point for 10 seconds or so until the muscle relaxes and then taking it further.. can be repeated 2- 3 times.)

Ps It's really common mate, you probably wouldn't notice if you weren't so ripped!

Thanks. I gotta find a good chiro around my area. I need to do some more research and see whose around. If I can get it aligned through just going to a chiro, that would be best, I'm hoping for that.

go to a good chiropracter and not some small cheap one a few times. I went about 10-15 times and have been off for a month(from chripracter) and go back this week. Havent cracked my back at all.

If i saw a pic with more of your ass in it (no homo) i could kinda see if your hips are out of allignement. Looks like they might be. I chripracter will crack your back in certain ways to adjust certain vertebrae. He will also get your hips in allignment. This is usually the first important thing to get fixed. You cant fix the spine if the hips are still crooked. That can cause problems with the neck, and nerve issues too.

When i was DB pressing i screwed up some stuff in my neck cuz my back was bad. It was the main cause for migranes and my injury which kept me out of lifting for a month.

edit: yeah bro your hips and shoulders are off too. obviously anyone can tell. but it will also make your muscles not in proportion. Its not gonna be a deception either just cuz your out of allignment, but other muscles may get bigger than the other. dead serious. My chiropracter taught me a lot. And id also advise not to work out your back hard if at all while going to the chiropracter for the first few weeks because you will regret it big time.

Would heavy squats make something like that worse? Looking great nonetheless.

I have a minor curtavture in my spine, the doc said it was nothing to worry 'bout though. I would still see one, cause I'm sure there are different cases of severity.

I would like to know this as well. Of course I'll ask the chiro about it when I go see him, but would like to get some opinions on it from forum members.

I've been looking at inversion tables as well now to help decompress and stretch out the spine. Some say it's great for people to do for a few minutes a couple times a day. Gotta look into it some more, but regardless of my spine issue, the more I look into it, the more it seems like just a great piece of equipment to have in general.

No citizen has a right to be an amateur in the matter of physical training...what a disgrace it is for a man to grow old without ever seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable.

found a couple good chiros close by
Chiropractors are 95% BS in my opinion. They CAN NOT alter the structure of your spine; it isn't physically possible. What they do is perhaps best described as something akin to therapuetic massage; any 're-alignment' is simply due to temporarily relaxing various muscles. If it's not causing any symptoms/pain, I wouldn't worry about it. If it is, I'd see a conventional medical doctor (ie. at a hospital.)
