PCT - Why does Nolva/clomid cause moodiness, anxiety, depression, etc.
First off, I am a natural bodybuilder...However, I love learning about all aspects of bodybuilding (natural and enhanced). I don't have any plans to do AAS....however, I've read through posts/articles that many individuals have a hard time mentally/emotionally during PCT. I understand that your natural levels are shutdown...however, it seems that many times Nolva causes depression/moodiness/anxiety, etc.
What is the reason that this happens....I've read that many people have bad side effects at higher doses....So I guess dose is an important part of this...But I guess, I'm trying to determine why a SERM like Nolva would have these type of sides.
Interested to hear sides many of you have had during PCT (Nolva)....I've found that many guys worry about sides during the cycle...However I feel like there is a major neglect to the sides that occur from PCT products.

its not necessarily the pct meds being the sole cause. the crash out of testosterone can have a drastic effect on mood, energy, anxiety etc. the body's normal chemistry is thrown way off. and it does effect it all. that being said, both clomid and novla are weak estrogens. they bind to estrogen receptors causing estrogenic effects.

And that is what I've been noticing...most guys are a lot moodier/anxious when doing the PCT. That is a bit scary to me.

Sorry for what may be a noob question...however, what are considered estrogenic effects?

I think it's sort of overblown, but I do know what 5x10 is talking about.

I agree. I think people blame the PCT drugs instead of the fact that they're post-cycle.

Why are you halfway doing everything?
You ran a partial cycle, and want to do a partial PCT. Why not do something and do it right so there's none of these questions?

Low test causes moodiness/depression, just ask me as an example!
PCT may cause Test fluctuations that cause the same.

hormone levels all over the place, moodiness is expected I would think
I usually get mildly depressed during pct, more with clomid than nolva but it does happen with nolva on some days, but hey, maybe its all in my head ?

Does the moodiness go away during the pct as your levels return to normal?

Your levels don't really return to baseline DURING PCT. You won't be back to normal until many weeks after PCT, most likely. But that said, as your levels increase, your mild moodiness should go away. Until then, just man up and act right and don't be moody.
