Dropped 60kg on my shoulder. Need Advice.

So yesterday I was doing some squats. Luckily I only had 60kg on the bar.

Whilst I was doing this some idiot who was going past me doing walking lunges drop one of the dumbells he was holding and it rolled into my foot and tripped me up.

I fell down onto my ass and the barbell seemed to sort of hover in the air for half a second and then it came down and smacked right in between my left shoulder and neck. Sort of on my traps and upper back muscles.

Now it hurt's quite a bit if I raise my arm up above my head or if I do any pushing movements. What I would like to know is whether I've torn anything or if the muscles are just tight from having a 60kg barbell dropped on them.

Whats the best way to treat this?

60kg landed directly on your shoulder and you haven't had an x-ray?!!!
I weigh 60kg and dropped myself on my shoulder.... it broke.

Please, at least see your GP if you are having ROM issues. Other than that, if it hurts, don't do it. Not at least for a week. No matter what your injury is, take it seriously and allow it to recover a bit.

Thanks for the advice. I've been taking it really easily today trying to rest my shoulder. I'm seeing a physio tomorrow.

I'm pretty sure it's only a soft tissue injury. Fingers crossed.
