So the oats would be blended to a powder, and added with my whey w/water PWO.
Has anyone tried this? What does it taste like?
(IM TALKING ABOUT MIXING IT IN A SHAKE BOTTLE)

I just got some chocolate whey and I made a choc/pb/oats shake. It was like a chocolate chip peanut butter cookie! Well, I added too much milk so the flavour was pretty weak.
If you want a nice weightgainer or super quick meal, try 2/3 of a cup oatmeal (plain oatmeal, make in microwave), a big scoop of PB and a healthy amount of chocolate protein powder plus a little olive oil (I am getting flax instead soon). IT tastes pretty good! I wouldn't drink it PWO tho, just get your protein in PWO or protein + 50g dextrose if you want to spike your insulin (never tried dex but some people swear by it).

No. I will never use dextrose. I am insulin insensitive, meaning if I have a rediculous insulin spike my body will tend to make more insulin because I am not sensitive to it and so I have a much better chance of just getting chubby. Either way, oats + whey and maybe some fruit works GREAT, you get all the insulin spiking that you need.

No, any carb will spike your insulin to a certain degree... even whey protein spikes your insulin (a pretty significant amount of spiking actually) ground oats + whey = quite of bit of an insulin spike. Clearly dextrose will spike it more and faster because it doesn't need to be digested (its glucose).. but its not necessary IMO
