Comic fanboys unite!!!!!
DC had New 52 which reset a lot of comics.
Marvel is currently doing "NOW!"
so what major superhero comic is currently closest to the magic 1000?

Haha. I laugh because the title explains it perfectly. A thief. Who steals from thieves.
On reddit, the two most recommended comics, basically, are this and Locke and Key. Locke and Key is too fantasy-ish for my tastes. So I picked up ToT. Apparently, the first story arc ended with issue 7, so #8 was a good place to start. I read #8 yesterday. Pretty good.Run. Rave. Repeat.

Finished the issues pictured above. It's good, man. The characters were a bit confusing at first, which may be expected. But now that I have it down, I am really digging the series.
In other news, a couple issues after the reboot, I gave up on The Dark Knight series of Batman because it was pretty poor. Saw some images of the latest issue online, and it looked pretty good. Come to read that the production team changed a few issues back, and the series is pretty solid now.
May get back into that one.Run. Rave. Repeat.

Batman & Robin is awesome. Detective Comics and Batman The Dark Knight are pretty good. Batman Inc is the worst.
As for extended family: Nightwing is getting boring. Batgirl, Batwing, and Catwoman are good, Red Hood and The Outlaws is my fav of the bunch, and I don't read Batwoman.
I read like 70% of both companies' books. Brand loyalty is dumb.
GL is boring the shyt out of me. This Third Army story is draggin' HARD.Last edited by Vibrio; 11-30-2012 at 01:32 PM.

Batman Inc isn't too bad. I really don't care for Birds Of Prey, Batwoman, or Red Hood.
Batman, Batman & Robin, Detective Comics, and Batgirl are probably the best. The Dark Knight was terrible up until around issue 11.
Knightwing, Batwing, and Catwoman are middle of the road for me.

My first exposure to Image was Youngblood, The Maxx, and Pitt back in the early 90s.

I don't know what made me think of this, other than you mentioning your age. I am 28 and remember as a teen, the hippest comic ever was Sandman.
I don't know. My brain went from Image to Spawn, to comics popular at the same time as Spawn, to Sandman. Lol. And then posting here.
I have a couple issues of Sandman in my collection. I wouldn't mind trying to pick some of the originals up and seeing if the same magic is sparked as it was in my youth. When, unfortunately, it was much more difficult for me to get my hands on the Sandman books.Run. Rave. Repeat.

Other than Gambit, none of the series I am reading had new issues this week.
But I had an itch to purchase.
I have never in my life read Thor. But my trusted shop tender promised that in the current series, Thor is no superhero. And then, BAM!, I saw Jason Aaron was writing and I was sold. About to read now.
Expecting a PunisheThor.
