Thumbs up LSU's quest for raw elite at 198

So bb.com decided that since my journal is too big to close it. No worries though, we will move on and keep this thing going.

Same title as to avoid confusion, and i dont really care what the title is anyway.

About me for those new readers who might stumble upon this thread.

Im 5'10 about 173lbs. Been working out since March of 2006. If you want to know my lifts, read my old journal, watch my youtube vids, or follow along here.

    http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showth...50604&page=360

With that stuff out of the way, lets get it rollin and lift some f*cking weights. Workout coming in a few hours.

    EDITED TO ADD:

here's my current workout template, designed by JBelite with some extra added by myself. exercises mainly remain the same, though sometimes accessory work can change

    Routine 1
    Day 1 Back ? Deadlifts

    Day 2 Bench 1/Chest/ biceps

Day 3 Quads / light triceps

    Day 4 OFF

    Day 5 Shoulders / chins (3-5 sets)

Day 6 LSU Hamstrings / biceps

    Day 7 OFF

    Day 8 Bench 2 / heavier triceps

    Day 9 OFF

    Day 10/1 Repeat Back
i typically include about 12-14 total worksets per day, all to or beyond failure.

LSU, don't take it personally. It's some vBulletin issue where large active threads slow the forum down. As long as there's a link back to the old one everything should be fine.

one of the good thigns about this journal (or the last one at least) is that alot of big and smart guys post in here. so even if you cant learn anything from me, you can definately learn something from some of them

I was subscribed to the last one but I had over 50 threads in that list so it was easy to lose track of them. I'll be following. I'm only a PM away if you ever want to get my opinion on something anyway.

With journals that would definitely be the best process, having a mod ask the owner of the journal to create a new one before closing it.

I agree with Dominik that talking to someone BEFORE closing their journal is a more appropriate course of action.

Anyway, you know I'm on board. This will be the second time I've had to subscribe/unsubscribe to a journal of yours today, lol.

That RDL felt easy? That's freakin' nuts.

That's some crazy weight/reps for the GHRs, too. Your hamstrings must be diced.

well, it felt lighter than i thought it would. definatley didnt feel that heavy and was easy to do some nice controlled reps. probably could have had 10, but form might have slipped a bit on the last rep. im trying not to do these as far to failure to allow myself to properly recover for regular deadlift

ghr is the best hamstring builder there is imo. since ive done those my hamstrings blew up. nothing else is really worth doing other than rdl and ghr for me

relatively easy. last time i did 399x5 and it felt really heavy and was rough. this was much easier to hit 8 and felt much lighter

dude, you will blow me away if you keep lifting till you are my age. it wont be close

so some of you have been sort of mentioning to me to possibly compete.

i decided tthat the only way i was going to compete was to break a record. im not sure how to read this data (aka what group i would be in), im guessing mens open.

here is the data link for the louisiana powerlifting state records

    http://www.wabdl.org/louisiana_dead_lift.htm

here is the possibly applicable data

Men's Single Lift Dead Lift: Open Men
    60kg/132 lbs. 485.0 PETE GUTIERREZ 08/29/98
    75kg/165 lbs. 520.0 MICHAEL MARCIANTE 08/29/98
    82.5kg/181 lbs. 584.0 JOSEPH BOZZELLE JR. 09/11/04
    or

Men's Single Lift Dead Lift: Junior Men 20-25
    60kg/132 lbs. 485.0 PETE GUTIERREZ 08/29/98
    75kg/165 lbs. 520.0 MICHAEL MARCIANTE 08/29/98
    90kg/198 lbs 578.5 PHILIP MARANTO 08/16/03
    100kg/220 lbs. 584.0 ANDY WHITAKER 11/18/07
    110kg/242 lbs. 479.5 GEORGE GOMEZ 08/16/03
    117.5kg/259 lbs. 540.0 BRANDON BIZETTE 08/13/05
though i have no idea what open men means. im guessing it means anyone can enter....

SO, i will compete in either the 181 or 198 division (depending on which one i have to go into, junior men or mens open) and try to break the record.

i also have no clue if this is the only powerlifting federation, or when the meets are or any of that.

but, if these are the numbers, im damn sure going to try

probably aim to compete next winter/spring

as some of you know but most of you probably dont, im going to be on a vacation of sorts for the next four weeks starting tommorrow.

im going to be at geology field camp in montana from tommorrow until july 14. that entails me being in the field each day in the mountains from 8-5.

the way i understand it is that i will have internet access there and will have my laptop so i will be able to check in here periodically

they do have a minimal gym with all the freeweight bb stuff i need, no machines though except maybe a leg press. so i will be working out i think at 6 am each morning im scheduled to before i go in the field

ill continue to try to make as much progress as possible and continue to keep hitting it hard, every lift i can. ill be replacing the machine work with what i can in free weights.

so, ill be offline for a couple days at least, and hopefully back around monday or tuesday.

btw, one cool thing is i will be hitting up a workout at some point with mr. montana himself, LEWDOG. so that should be cool.

later guys, and ill hit yall up soon
