MuscleMag International, the bodybuilding and fitness magazine, ran an article or an interview with the legendary Serge Nubret many, many years ago. I remember him describing squats that he would perform - from the full ATTG or down position to half-way up, keeping constant tension on his quad muscles.

Monsieur Nubret! I am almost certain you will appreciate the following tutorial of this movement which I have described above. She may be performing the movement too slowly? Regardless, I believe she is offering a very pleasing visual for those who might be interested in duplicating this exercise in their own training sessions.

What do you say, Serge?

Awesome. I've seen that vid before. Very cool at the beginning where he morphs into the panther!

Yes, definitely, that is as I remember it. You said it was for free squats only, that technique. That was a long time ago. The article was from when I was a teenager, I'm sure. What do you think of her form? I think she does a good job.

OK. You've convinced me. Lower the weights, up the reps and sets. I like getting the pump.

Maybe this increase in activity might be the key to lowering the bodyfat levels. This may define true bodybuilding from "weight lifting" and powerlifting.

Maybe it's time to forget what I think I know for a time, and just launch out on a new bodybuilding adventure.

Now to get a plan going, beginning sets, rep range, two bodypart split or three?

Thanks,

Mikefromms
Well give it a shot Mike, what have you got to lose? If you're anything like me, if you've "tried it all" by now. I find this training style a refreshing change and it has given me some good gains. Plus the best pumps ever, period!

As for a split, there's plenty of good suggestions here. As I stated earlier in this thread, I spread everything over a 5 day period and do extra cardio at the end of my workout (I'm concentrating on losing fat right now.)

Regards,

Daniel

chill, Coleman is coleman, Serge is Serge, different era's, two different body types, no comparison.

yah this has been brought up.
1st, you broke a forum rule, you're not suppose to ask pro's what the are taking/have taken. so i'd worry more about he mods than users giving an e-bashing
2nd, you can take roids if you want, but Serge advocates a natural training regime here, so you're not going to get any info on steroid use. Serge's routine is about strengthening the mind while also improving the body, which i feel is an incredibly important point, as alot people nowadays are lacking in this department. 'god i can't do this', 'it can't be done!'. 'no way that guy's natural', is what is said before 'god how hard will i have to work to reach MY peak' 'to be at MY best'. 'how should i adjust my training', 'how much protein should i add'.
In tom princes thread he shows what it takes to be a pro, and the main point, don't miss a workout leave out only 2-3 for emergency stuff, this is what separates 9.9999% of us. that doesn't require a physical effort as much as it does a mental one. try doing Serge's routine, 6 days a week, two sessions a day, eat a gigantic amount of food. rinse-repeat. this takes alot of will power, mental effort to get through this.

obviously it's easy to tell who is natural and who isn't right now. but why do you think that Serge's physique cannot be attained naturally?
im serious, think about that, what runs through your head that tells you 'no way!'. obviously you're not going to be as big as the ifbb pro's (personally don't know why you would want to be) doing it naturally, but what you can attain naturally can still be masterpiece!
don't worry about what Serge could have/did/didn't take. that's not the point of this thread. the point is to be motivated, to push yourself, and to have a true love for what you are doing, that for me is the main motivation.

now i'm not targeting you or anything, you can juice, that's your choice, but this thread, and Serge's routine is about attaining your own masterpiece, and every time someone asks about the steroids, it gives the impression that this can't be done. again not targeting this has been brought up before and i want to address this to anyone else who might ask roid related question.

one other thing, attaining a serge level physique naturally. I'm not just going to do that, but be better than Serge....(hearing gasping all the way to Australia as you read this). i don't know how long it will it take, but i will craft my body to better than Serge's in his prime.

What you truly dont believe Ronnie was all natural?

OMG!

But seriously i wasnt comparing Serge to Ronnie, i was just having a little joke for christ sake, i was emphasising the naivety of a lot of ppl.

Steroids do not make the athlete, they are tools, you can take all the performance enhancing drugs in the world, but if you dont have the will to train like and eat like a champion, nor the knowledge required to induce muscular hypertrophy, then all your efforts (or lack thereof) will be for naught.

PPl dont seem to realize that gear actually makes you train harder than if you were natural and this makes ones training far more brutal, not easier, most idiots believe the BS that is pumped out by the media and the government, that steroids are bad, they are simply tools and have been widely used in sports since the 60's and maybe even before that, the ancient Greeks used performance enhancement in the form of herbs, so did the Chinese, Indians, and many other peoples around the world, humans have always looked at ways to advance themselves and the world around them, it is true human nature and there is nothing wrong with pursuing this goal.

Serge looks great at 60, Arnold does too and many other ex pros from the same era, steroids didnt kill them, though the media would have you believe that any ex pro who has died in the past, died because of steroid use, but anyone with half a brain know the media are full of **** and are mere propagandists of the government.

Back in the 70's steroids were loved by all, if you wanted to gain weight you just went to your doctor and explained your problem, he would put you on a course of gear and all was good, they were legal back then in the US.

Yet today the government makes millions on the ppls ill health, as fast foods, cigs and alcohol are sold on every street corner, any one of these substances cause more illness and deaths than steroids ever could, yet they are marketed to far more ppl, only athletes and mature adults want to use steroids responsibly, true there are teens who have no place using in the first place or general idiots who know nothing about steroids that want to take them, these ppl have no place using gear at all.

Now i have said this i will say no more on the subject of performance enhancement, unless anyone wants to argue anything i have just said, lets finish there.

Now i have said this i will say no more on the subject of performance enhancement, unless anyone wants to argue anything i have just said, lets finish there.
excellent post, care to PM these herbs j/k

So Serge and everyone else, any words? care to make your own statements.
This is the right state of mind. Your obviously and Ectomorph so you'd better eat like, a zillion tons of food and train hard and you could do it. Heck I didnt start bodybuilding til 25, and im going to be great even though most think its not possible that late. 3 years from now I will have greatest physic on these boards (Aside from the pro's). When I say greatest physic I mean bodybuilder physic, not huge blocky physic with GH gut. I will have tight abs, huge chest and arms, legs to match. I will be like a work of art.
