Bango, as I look at this, I think we can use the "popular articles" section to accomplish what I'd like to get done. I assume that you have control over what is displayed as a popular article. I was talking about rearranging things. We don't have to arrange anything except the popular articles.
Here's what I have in mind, in the order they'd be listed:
1. The Books (already listed)
2. SS Programs (already listed)
3. Main Lifts (already listed)
4. Your first day in the gym - this section would describe how to choose starting weights
5. Progression - link to the section about adding weight every day, how much weight to add, etc.
6. What to do when you get stuck. (resets/deload section)
7. Adding assistance exercises
That's off the top of my head and might not be exact. I'm thinking that the popular articles list could step through what a rank novice needs to get started on the program.
Does this make sense? Is it doable?

I was around Rip all last weekend but he was filiming his DVD and wasn't really in the mood to sit and talk, so I asked Kilgore instead. I simply forgot to follow up with Rip during the week.

Or maybe we're just not understanding exactly what's being said. You already know that Starr taught Rip. It's very rare when Rip disagrees with Starr. I'd tell you to ask the question at StrengthMill. If Rip has a serious disagreement with Starr, he won't release the question. He doesn't like public disagreements with any coach, much less one that's a good friend.

For squats i seem to grip the bar just outside of my shoulders and cant seem to keep my wrist straight when the bar is on how can i fix this? i can squat around wut i bench maybe more ill give it a try but i have to be wearing shorts
for bench press i can do 5 reps of 40.5kg and form is slowed at 4th or the 5th rep what should my staring weight be?
for pendlay row i can do 5 reps of 50kg and form is slowed amd forced at the 4th or 5th rep. for pendlay row should i feel a burn behind the arm pit area?
dl i havent tryed but checking form

Try this: walk up to the bar (don't go under it just yet), grab the bar at the appropriate place, then twist your wrist forward so that you're still holding the bar but now your hand is almost vertical (pointing down). Now go under the bar, and without moving the bar up or down (it's ok if it rolls on the same spot) slowly twist your wrist back until it's straight. et voil

Try gripping the bar a little wider. I know what SSBBT says about straight wrists. I also know that my wrists aren't straight and I don't worry about it. As long as the arms aren't supporting any weight, it's not a problem. I could simply drape my hands over the top of the bar and nothing would happen. The only thing my arms do is to keep the bar from tilting to the left or right. They don't assist in keeping the bar from rolling down my back. I'm built with longer forearms in comparison with my upper arms. There's only so much room between my elbow and the bar and my forearms are longer than that. I either grip the bar wider or bend the wrists to make things fit. I suppose I should widen the grip but, like I said, the bent wrists haven't caused me any problems yet.
As for starting weights, start out with the bar and do a set of 5. Add 5 kg and do another set of 5. Watch the bar speed. Keep doing more sets adding 5 kg each time until you notice the slightest decrease in bar speed. Where ever that happens, it's your starting weight.

Is it OK to begin the PC movement with the bar suspended in the air? I'm using little weight (the plates are small) so I cant get it in the right position if not.

I don't quite understand what you just said.
Start with 20 kg (the bar only) and do a set of 5. Watch the bar speed.
Add a 2.5 kg weight to each end of the bar (total wgt= 25 kg) and do another set. Watch the bar speed. If it slowed down at all, stop there. If not, add another 2.5 kg to each end of the bar (total wgt= 30 kg). Do another set and watch the bar speed. If it slows down, stop there.
Keep going like that until the bar speed slows down. It might be at 30 kg or it might be 25 or 35. You won't know until you do it.

Hello,
I am 16 years old and i have a question about stalling on the bench press and the overhead press. I have been on the rippetoe program for 3 month's now and achieved an 90 kg squat and 95 kg deadlift, the problem is with the other 2 lifts that i stalled with the bench press at 45 kg and the overhead press 27.5 Kg. I tried 3 times on both exercises failed to complete, did a 10% reset and worked back up failed again at the same weights again tried 3 times reset again and now i fail again. How is this possible ?
Training experience: 4 months
bodyweight: 78 kg
length: 187 cm
