Im doin this thing where i run around the woods for 9 days trying not to get found.
i get to bring 5 pounds of food.
i was thinking 5 pounds of detour bars or something similar...
BUT..
what do you think?

Get some really good granola (oats, nuts, dried fruit, even chocolate) & add some protein powder. You would have all the macro bases covered. There's a reason long distance hikers have been using it forever.

peanut butter isn't lightweight.
You are going to need foods that give you plenty of carbs and fats to sustain yourself on 5 lbs of food for that period of time.
I like the trail mix idea as well as the bars and some protein powder.
As already asked...what about water?
And yeah...it does sound kinda fun....what exactly is this

ADVANCED EVASION (D-2G-0032A)
This course is classified "SECRET" and requires a minimum security clearance of "SECRET" or higher and is required to be reflected on an individual's written orders.
Advanced Evasion provides 12 days of follow-on training to build upon and enhance skills learned during the basic SERE course and is designed to facilitate survival, expedite search and rescue efforts and evading capture by hostile forces.
This course is presented as a series of lectures, videotapes, demonstrations and presentations by various DoD recovery support agencies. Lectures and presentations are followed by an extensive scenario-driven evasion exercise encompassing evasion planning, preparation and execution, along with recovery via both conventional and unconventional methods.
The Advanced Evasion course covers the following topics: Refresher survival and training, legal and moral, aspects of evasion, Combat Search and Rescue operations (Conventional/ Unconventional), Bloodhound/Tracker Team evasion, Booby-Trap avoidance measures and Night Navigation.
Prerequisites: The student must complete basic SERE and meet all physical/medical requirements established for the basic SERE course as a prerequisite for Advanced Evasion. Complete Medical and Dental Records, with a completed S.E.R.E. Medical screening must accompany the individual. Due to the intensive nature of the course, students who report without required records will be returned to their command.
To gain the maximum benefit from this course you are invited to bring the equipment that you would normally carry or fly with. However you may bring any items you wish to carry with the exception of firearms and pyrotechnics. The bottom line is "If you can't afford to lose it, don't bring it".

how clean are these streams to begin with? Also, look at some survival guides for edible plantlife. Plenty of good easily recognizeable sources of food out there. Carry it with ya also for verification.
Some examples, cattails, dandelion, violots plus fruit trees etc..etc...lots of good healthy plants out there
