Honda gear heads (engine swap)
I am thinking about rebuilding my 88 crx si. The problem I have is what engine to swap it with I am thinking about:
H22A Type S - $3950...stock HP 200HP @6800 RPM
B16B Type R - $3400...stock HP 185 @8200 RPM
Both are pretty close I just dont know what one to go after and will possibly be cheaper to rebuild in the long run.
I know this is going to take a couple of years to collect all the parts and time to start/complete but I know in the long term it will be sooooo worth it.
What would you choose?

You plan on spending $3500 on an 88 honda so that it will have 200hp at most stock. This won't increase the car's value at all either. Just saying you should think it through.

Engine 1 = 154 lb ft of torque
Engine 2 = 118 lb ft of torque
Now that's just at the max HP number...In terms of feeling power, it seems like the H22A would better though. I'd have to see the full dyno to be sure.
The lower the engine makes the higher HP, the more torque.
--
For example...
350 lb ft @ 3,000 rpm = 200 horsepower
150 lb ft @ 7,000 rpm = 200 horsepower
Seem similar, but I bet that 350 lb ft feels much faster...since horsepower is a calculated number....and torque is measured.
Horsepower = (Torque * RPM) / 5252

yeah, the crx can be awesome with some work. I have an 04 civic, just put in an aem intake, atleast it sounds beastly in the higher rpm range, even though it's not that fast.
