How do you take BCAAs?
I just started taking a BCAA supplement and am confused as to when and how much I should be taking. The bottle says that 6 pills = 1 serving... I know you should take BCAAs before and after a workout so am I supposed to spread this one serving out over the course of the day? Or do I take 6 pills before my workout and then another 6 after?

I take BCAAs before a fasted workout (I generally go at 5 am and can't eat a full breakfast before then) or after my workout if I go later in the day. The ones I take have the following:
Supplement Facts
Serving Size 3 CAPSULES
Servings Per Container 66
Amount Per
Serving % Daily
Value
L-Leucine 1200 Mg N/A*
L-Isoleucine 600 Mg N/A*
L-Valine 600 Mg N/A*
So, I take the 3 as recommended before my am workout or after my pm workout. It won't hurt you to take more (at least not that I am aware of) - you'll just pee out what your body doesn't use.

not sure about the pills but i take xtend during my workout.

For future reference, do get a powder version like ICE of Xtend.
For now, take as many as you can afford in the pre-DURING period. Make the majority of those, during your workout. You could get away with whey + whatever post workout.

Recovery is key. Massages, epsom salts baths, foam rolling, sleep masks, contrast showers, it all adds up. Get a foam roller, The Stick, a tennis/baseball, use them and stay healthy, pain and injury free.

I agree with the above posters...powder is superior and Xtend is great!
I sip on it during both cardio and weight training. And after my workout I take another scoop of a different brand.

agreeing on bcaa powder...... much more superior, finish off that bottle of pills and start taking a powder or flavored mix like xtend, ice, purple wraath

I use BCAA powder, and it's much better (and easier!) to take than pills (I've tried both). I usually stick to having BCAA's before and during cardio, and during and after weights. Pre/during cardio would be to prevent muscle breakdown, and during/post weights would be to gain muscle. I've seen pretty good results with this.
