Quick Release Straps
Hey everyone I have been working on some new and improved straps that work as a quick release system. They are faster to get on and off the bars, hold on to the bars better and the best part they will be made in the USA not over in China.
If anyone is interested in the idea let me know I have samples being made as I write this and will be getting ready to start putting them in stores around the Colorado area very soon hopefully nationwide one day.

I will be looking into getting some samples out and I will be selling them to the public and stores nation wide. I know most of the straps they sell right now are around $12-$16 a pair. I will want to sell my straps for around $12.99what do you think. I know I do not have a details or pics up of them as they are in the manufacturing stage and patent pending stages of the game, just getting a feel from avid lifters.

How are we supposed to give you an opinion on this mystery tool? If you *truly* are working on obtaining a patent then show us the straps, since it would be too late to copy your design. Also seems like you would want an opinion before investing all the required money into the patent process and manufacturing. And if they are now in the manufacturing stage then I would think that you would know what they cost you to make, including the patent cost, and you would determine your selling price from that plus desired profit.

Before you settle on your price or distribution you need to get your product out for testing.
Listen, if you are going to make this a profitable business venture you need to have a good product. Get 100 pairs of these things and send them out to different people. Get feedback. You don't want to jump into production for sale in Colorado or nationally if your product isn't as good as you think of it.
What you should also ask of these 100 (or however many you choose) people is how much would you pay for this item? That would be a pretty good starting point for figuring out your price point.

It'll be hard to beat just using hooks.

Thanks for all your responses. I more or less wanted to know if there was a need or want in the community which looks like there is.
As far as the straps go, I will have samples made up this time next week if you are interested in trying them out let me know. I will not be putting any drawings of the straps on this Forum.
Thanks for the interests Stunmai3. I can tell you as far as the costs are concerned I have already taken every measurable cost into play, and the number in which I have come up with is what I explained in my last response. I have been working on finding the some backing I need to make major purchases for the products manufacturing. If you want to know more and are interested in coming on board with the project or investing I will be glad to talk with you future on the subject.
Thanks Reidak for the response and yes I will be looking at letting some people try them out. I will also be doing a little research on what people in other areas think about the cost and how the compare to some of the straps already on the market today. I have already been using these types of straps in my own gym and everyone that has had opportunity to try them as loved them.
Reidak and anyone else who would like to try out my new straps just let me know and I will be happy to set something up with you.
Nykwan, I believe my design is more versatile than the hook method. With hooks I have noticed a small slippage that I cannot stop when doing my reps in each given set. My Quick release straps stay on tight for the entire use of the set. And again everyone can use them no matter how new to bodybuilding they are.

but hooks suck for extreme weights, most hooks slide down the wrist and put severe strain on the wrist connective tissue, as opposed to really good straps like APT Ultimates or Motivators
Having used all of the above I will never use hooks again
