Does anyone have a good shampoo they are using to prevent hair-loss? Any supplements that helps? Thanks!

Don't use it, but I can tell you it definately works. I personally know someone who has tried it, and is continuing to use it for over 6 months now.

Nioxn has worked great for me for many years. Its kind of expensive, but well worth it.

to PREVENT hairloss, only thing shampoo wise is nizoral (ketoconazole) shampoo.
all the rest are just to make your hair appear thicker, but they wont do anything for hair loss.
get some propecia, rogaine, and nizoral.

Which NIOXIN product is worth using? There are various treatments, kits, which is a good one to use?
For those who have used it, what differences have you seen?

Listen to this guy...he knows of what he speaks. People who suffer from hair loss speak of the "big 3": propecia, minoxidil, and nizoral. Those are your best bets.
Nioxin is a good shampoo, but it will not halt your hairloss. Unfortunately its makers tout much more and spend a lot of money advertising the product to salons.

Thanks so much for the information, I'm going to use nizoral, but it seems I should only use it a few times a week, what shampoo should I use the other time?

Realize nizoral will not halt your hair loss. Its effectiveness is limited.
Propecia is your best bet for keeping your hair, but anytime you mess with hormones there can be consequences.
Most people who use nizoral rotate it with a simple shampoo like Head and Shoulders. Nioxin is too expensive.

I've used a supplement called Shen Min, tablet form, for over 10+ yrs. with good success. No regrowth but it's slowed the fallout dramatically.

I just picked up Nizoral shampoo and looks like it's 1% you get over the counter, but they offer 2% prescription strength. Does anyone know of any info that the 2% works any better?
Also, just to correct, it does seem like you are only supposed to use it 1 every 3-4 days.
One cosmetic doctor told me to use avodart as it blocks both forms of DHT versus only the one that propecia blocks. Avodart is much more effective, but is a little more expensive. I want to use it but I'm nervous about using anything that may possibly mess with my hormones and sex drive as I am only 29.

forget that ****, avodart is way too strong, speak to Sldge of Designer Supplements of why not to use that and propecia.

i do know people using avodart. i say try the propecia first. it lowers dht by about 60% upon first dose. it takes a few months before the full effects are seen b/c it makes all your hair follicles go onto the same cycle. avodart lowers it a lot more. start low and see where that goes first.

I like Nioxin cleanser and scalp therapy. It's good stuff plus it makes your dome cold when you use it
