    Overtraining to shock your body

Currently i am working out Chest/Sh/Tri on mondays - Legs on tuesdays - And back and bi on wednesdays. Taking thursday off and repeating the process friday.

Lifting reasonably heavy - 8 reps and only 8.

I'm mainly used to working out one body part per day, so i thought i'd work double for a few weeks to shock my body.

Do you think this would be a reasonable shock?
Train in this moment, sweat in this moment, and by tomorrow you will be a beast.

The only thing that can hold me back, is myself.

Train like a beast, eat like a horse, sleep like a baby, grow like a weed.

Not your fault for perpetrating the BS that gets thrown around sometimes, but "shocking" your body is probably the dumbest concept in weight lifting history.

Just keep at it and slowly increase the weight. That's all the "shocking" your body needs.

Even that I don't understand. Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you're lifting enough weight to really push yourself, you shouldn't be able to double your workload at the flick of a switch, no? It's kind of like working up to a 4 mile run and then trying to run 8 miles on some random day. Doesn't make sense to me.

    IMO, of course.

^^^^This. If you want to "shock" your body, stick your finger in a light socket. (not srs).

Muscle responds to progressive increase in load over time.

Might be good once in a while to try and increase your fitness level and work capacity, but get ready to be really tired in a few weeks working out 2x as much!

Can't getting tazed be considered a full body workout? Flexing all your muscles at once, and twitching on the ground for reps...

Yes, but it's easy to overtrain from heavy tazering, so you only do it once a month or so.
